ECUADOR BirdFair 2018
Cuenca is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is Southern Ecuador´s jewel, the epicenter of local culture, native artisans and superb nature reserves. Nestled in a unique Andean scenery surrounded by sacred mountains, rivers, glacier lakes and harbouring many archeological sites the city provides easy access to the lowlands of the Pacific Ocean and the Amazon regions of Ecuador.
From this historical city we access to the greatest biodiversity within national parks, UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and other native forests that invite everyone to rediscover one of the 17 most megadiverse countries in the world: Ecuador
Biotropica Expeditions, a tour operator specialized in natural history and birdwatching expeditions with over 30 years of experience in South America’s wilderness, co-founder and creator of other sustainable community based nature tourism projects like Napo Wildlife Center is launching this year in Cuenca an annual event to showcase this fantastic biodiverse destination. We are inviting you to Ecuador Birdfair 2018 – Nature for All!
During September 13th through 16th everyone is welcome to attend a selection of lectures, natural history and birding excursions, nature art exhibits, pre and post event birding and nature tours, as well as visiting the charming center of old Cuenca filled with welcoming retreats. We will share and learn about Ecuador’s overwhelming biodiversity, its birdlife, orchids, butterflies, the high Andean ecosystems, the foothill cloud forests and lowland tropical rain forests, creating unique experiences and stronger alliances for best management, conservation and sustainability of our natural resources.
