The mighty ceiba tree, biggest tree in the Amazon. Seeds, leaves and bark of the ceiba tree are used in medical purposes in treatment of fever, asthma, dysentery and renal ailments. Bark can be also used in treatment of diabetes and headache. The Mayans believed that souls of deceased can reach heaven only via highest branches of the Ceiba tree.

The Macrolobium acaciifolium trees are said to live to around 400 years and have medicinal uses, A wash of the decocted leaves is used to treat fevers. Herbal baths made with the leaves are believed to keep a person forever young, since this tree always gets fresh, young leaves after shedding its old ones.
