PCR test and antigens test are eliminated to enter Ecuador.
National COE modifies entry requirements to Ecuador and expands capacity after a downward trend in COVID-19 cases.
According to Juan Zapata, president of the national COE, there is a marked downward trend in the case of COVID-19 infections, which is why changes were made to the requirements for entering Ecuador by eliminating the presentation of a negative PCR test and of antigens, but the vaccination certificate is kept with the QR code and in exceptional cases the inoculation card.
The new requirement will come into effect from this Friday, February 11. “

“The director of CoeNacional, Juan Zapata, reported that next week 193 cantons of Ecuador will pass to a red light; 26 in yellow and 2 will be in green. The purpose is to stop the cases of COVID19 and avoid greater pressure on the health system.
Ecuador put most of its cantons on the “red light” of the epidemiological traffic light this Sunday, after the rebound in covid-19 infections, which has led to a 300% increase in the number of cases in the last week.
This was reported by the Emergency Operations Committee (COE), who is in charge of monitoring and coordinating actions to contain the covid-19 pandemic, which in Ecuador has infected more than 614,000 people.

José Ruales, Vice Minister of Health, indicated in a press conference that, according to the levels of contagion in the provinces and the conditions of the health care systems, it has been decided to locate three types of warning lights for the cantons or Ecuadorians municipalities.

On Friday, January 21, 2022, a new meeting of the COE will be held to evaluate the epidemiological situation in the country. Given this, the Ministry of Health continues with its commitment to guarantee the well-being of the entire population.”

🔴 There will be a STOP OF TRANSPORTERS AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL, DUE TO THE INCREASE OF DIESEL.

No intra and inter Provincial transport unit will circulate on the country's highways, from April 19.

The National Federation of Interprovincial Passenger Transport Cooperatives of Ecuador (Fenacotip) issued a statement to warn that, as of this Monday, April 19, 2021, all transport units that belong to this union will not circulate on any highway in the country.

This measure would be given due to the lack of attention of the Government to their requests, since, on multiple occasions they have asked the authorities for a concrete solution due to the increase in the price of fuels, especially diesel that has increased in value in the last ten months.

Given this, the union had already announced that they would paralyze their activities on April 6, but due to the second round presidential elections, they would have postponed this resolution.

In the communiqué that they socialized, it is also emphasized that the transport units no longer have the necessary resources to continue with their operations in the country.

"Due to the lack of resources to sustain our operations, on Monday, April 19, unfortunately, our units will not be able to go out on the road."

At the moment, neither the President of the Republic, Lenín Moreno, nor his ministers have responded to this measure.
