Contrastes coralinos

So when it’s good time to dive in the Galapagos !?

All the year!!! Here some Pics from the most common marine life in our dives !

1. Eagle rays, almost every single day of the year, you can find them feeding on the sandy bottom, trough the cleaning station or just in the blue drifting with the current.

2. White tip reef shark, easily you can find them everywhere on the warm seasson, from July to November they are runing away from cold, looking for warmer places like big bays or small caves, spread out the reef. This just happening at the central part of th archipel where we mostly are diving.

3. Hammerhead shark, in the central part of a Galapagos on the warm seasson you can hook at least the 80 % of the the days in winter .
Meanwhile in the coldest days they agregations are at the farest north at Darwin & Wolf island.

What about whale shark !?
Everyday it’s a good day for a whale shark, jus Mother Nature it surprise us giving this gift with no date and no time! They just appears. But august and September good months for WS at the north!

We celebrate 50th Galapagos Anniversary !

February 18, 1973, Galapagos became a province whose capital is Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, San Cristobal Island. Culture, education, conservation, we all build a better place.
Gratitude to the pioneers who came to this hostile paradise to make a homeland and leave a legacy of home protection.

We know only a little about these angelsharks, they forage in outcrops around the archipelago and also look for cleaning stations where they spend an undetermined amount of time.
All year round we have sightings of mantas, but we have observed that are seasons where they stay longer (August, September, October) in some islets and bays in our diving areas (north central). When the water gets pretty cold, we can perceive that they are down there solitary or sometimes in large groups. They can become a bit shy, entering the water without scaring them away is a big challenge, but when everything lines up without disturbing their biological activities we can enjoy these dreamy moments.

The Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas ) has a circumglobal distribution, occurring throughout tropical and, to a lesser extent, subtropical waters (Atlantic Ocean – eastern central, northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest, western central; Indian Ocean – eastern, western; Mediterranean Sea; Pacific Ocean – eastern central, northwest, southwest, western central). Green turtles are highly migratory and they undertake complex movements and migrations through geographically disparate habitats. Nesting occurs in more than 80 countries worldwide (Hirth 1997). Their movements within the marine environment are less understood but it is believed that green turtles inhabit coastal waters of over 140 countries (Groombridge and Luxmoore 1989)..
