This week we had a chance to take a tour to Española in partnership with . We have visited the island on day trips and liveaboards many times, but always to Punta Suarez (a longer, more challenging walk to observe birds) and Bahía Gardner (snorkeling). The National Park opened new visitor sites over a year ago, and we were eager to check them out.
This version of the tour includes stops at Playa Manzanillo (beach walk followed by snorkeling off the boat), Islote Tortuga (snorkeling off the boat), and Punta Cevallos (short walk to observe birds). Total navigation time was around 3 hours and total activity time was about 5 hours including a fishing demonstration (unfortunately we didn't catch anything).
Note that this tour is operated on a limited basis and is most recommended when the albatross are nesting and raising their chicks (April to December but best from July to November).
