Dolphins! Of course we spend time on the water traveling between islands on our land tours. Some of our tours use private transfers, which lets us slow down and enjoy interactions with whales, dolphins, seabirds, and other wildlife. You never know what you'll see on a Galakiwi tour!

Turtle love. During mating season we often see large numbers of sea turtles close to the coasts in the Galapagos Islands. Sometimes we catch them in action. There may be biting involved as the male clumsily tries to try on top of the female. 🐢 ❤️

This is not a Crow, it is a smooth-billed Ani. One of our Galakiwi team members took this photo on garbage/recycling day. The bird was getting an easy meal picking flies out of the air! Fun fact: this bird is related to cuckoos and roadrunners!

This lava lizard might be harder to spot if it didn't have such a brightly colored head. Most lava lizard species found in the Galapagos can't be seen anywhere else in the world!

Look at those grippy claws! Marine iguanas need to be able to hang tight and walk over both jagged lava rocks, and slippery rocks when they're out foraging for food. Their favorite food is red algae, which large males can dive underwater for up to an hour to eat!
