Some Galapagos birding: Egrets and herons are a couple of the larger birds you'll spot wading along shorelines and in tidal pools in the Galapagos Islands.

Photography in the Galapagos: When visiting the Galapagos Islands, you will spot many unique creatures running about on the ground, or flying about in the trees. The scenery can also often be grey/dark thanks to lava rocks everywhere.

For photography, try to get low to the ground to "elevate" land animals such as lava lizards, and place some color in your photo, if possible.

For birds, such as finches, try to get eye-level, or use a zoom to get closer and capture some detail in your photos.

The Galapagos are truly a nature paradise for any photographer, whether you are a professional, or just a casual observer.
