Uyuni Salt Flat (Salar de Uyuni)
Salar de Uyuni, amid the Andes in southwest Bolivia, is the world’s largest salt flat. It’s the legacy of a prehistoric lake that went dry, leaving behind a desertlike, nearly 11,000-sq.-km. landscape of bright-white salt, rock formations and cacti-studded islands. Its otherworldly expanse can be observed from central Incahuasi Island. Though wildlife is rare in this unique ecosystem, it harbors many pink flamingos.
The Salar de Uyuni is undoubtedly the largest salt desert on planet Earth. ... This is also known as the Salar de Tunupa, in addition to salt, it is a large reserve of other minerals such as lithium, potassium, boron, and magnesium.
Late April is the perfect time to visit Uyuni, as you can see both the dry salt desert and the giant mirror effect. It is not as cold as in winter and rainfall is limited. The fewer number of tourists also means that you can explore it calmly and alone.

The Angel Falls
Angel Falls is a waterfall in Venezuela. It is the world's tallest uninterrupted waterfall, with a height of 979 metres and a plunge of 807 m. The waterfall drops over the edge of the Auyán-tepui mountain in the Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Gran Sabana region of Bolívar State.
Canaima National Park encompasses 3 million hectares in southeastern Venezuela, where the country borders Brazil and Guyana. It’s distinguished by its numerous tepuis, massive flat-topped mountains that rise from grassy savanna and are often covered in mist. The 979m-tall Angel Falls waterfall flows from Auyantepui mountain into the Cañón del Diablo, a steep canyon surrounded by tropical forest. It is located in Bolívar State, reaching the borders with Brazil and Guyana.

At the forefront, health and safety are the most important… ..
We are experiencing a mixture of joy and relief, and hope that the darkest days the industry has ever seen are behind us.
The Covid-19 pandemic has brought travelers uncertainty and turbulence, new behavioral protocols, restrictions, mental stress and fears, closures and bans, canceled travel plans, new ways to work and connect, vaccinations, and vaccination skeptics. Hopefully, it has sparked tough questions and awkward conversations among travelers and a demand for a vital shift in attitudes and behavior toward more rigorous sustainability in travel and tourism with accountability and transparency.
Like many activities, tourism came to a standstill and will never be the same again in the future. Globally, we live in times of great uncertainty about travel in times of pandemic and about future travel.
We believe that less-explored and remote destinations will be preferred by travelers who previously preferred massive sites and large urban centers.
Remote natural places in South America such as the Amazon, the Andes, the Galapagos Islands, Machupicchu, the Salar de Uyuni, the Atacama Desert, Patagonia, Easter Island and Antarctica are expected to be the new destinations for the world's adventurers.

Cartagena is a port city on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Next to the sea is the walled Old Town, founded in the 16th century, with squares, cobbled streets, and colorful colonial buildings. With a tropical climate, the city is also a popular beach destination. The Isla de Barú, with its white sand beaches and palm trees, and the Rosario Islands, known for their coral reefs, can be reached by boat.
Cartagena de Indias was one of the most important ports in Latin America, and most of its artistic and cultural heritage comes from this period. On November 11, 1811, Cartagena declared itself independent from Spain.
Cartagena has been a city present in the midst of armed conflicts and piracy, since it was here that numerous attacks by pirates and corsairs from Europe took place, which made it strongly walled and fortified during the Spanish administration. to the point of being the most robust fortress in South America and the Caribbean, becoming almost as reinforced as the Gulf of Mexico itself in its time. At present its viceregal architecture is maintained.
Over time, Cartagena has developed its urban area preserving the historic center and becoming one of the most important ports in Colombia, the Caribbean and the world, as well as a famous tourist destination. Its historic center, the "Walled City", was declared a National Heritage Site of Colombia in 1959 and by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1984

Welcome back to the Magic.!After having carefully and continuously maintained its borders open to tourism for the past ten months, Ecuador has again surprised observers by confirming that by the end of May 2021, the entire adult population of the Galapagos Islands will have been vaccinated against Covid-19, giving yet another nod to the Ecuadorian tourism industry. Many travelers are beginning to plan their post-pandemic getaways. Many also realize that a tailor-made adventure tour to the Galapagos Islands is an absolute must for satisfying their scientific curiosity or their nature-loving passion. Located in the eastern Pacific Ocean, 620 mi. (1000 km) off the west coast of mainland Ecuador (the country to which the Galapagos Islands belong), this spell-binding archipelago is famous for its totally unique endemic species that were paramount in the development of Charles Darwin’s groundbreaking theory of evolution. While the archipelago is made up of 13 main islands, 9 smaller islands, and 107 cays and islets, we have selected our top-ten, each of which is encircled by swathes of azure sea – and today more enticing than ever.................#galapagos #galapagosislands #ecuador #breathofthewild #breatheagain #sentirsebienenecuador #alfonsotandazo #surtrek #discoveryoursouthamerica #galapagoscruise #adventure

Wildlife and sustainability in the Galapagos Islands.!
Ecuador, your new destination
Ecuador, an amazing country, we invite you to visit it....!
As a company, Surtrek has an embedded belief in the power of travel experiences, the importance of sustainability and a deep love for all things South America. The company was born from the bold vision of Alfonso Tandazo who, at the time, was a highly skilled and passionate tour guide, leading intrepid travellers to all corners of the continent. Alfonso’s care for nature, the landscape and beauty of chance encounters with friendly locals inspired him to create a travel company with a difference, one whose purpose was to replicate some of the life changing, memorable moments he and his groups would regularly enjoy.
This same burning energy, commitment and innovation is more apparent now, 20 years later, than ever. An international team of highly skilled and experienced professionals, operating from Ecuador to London, Zürich to China, now support Alfonso’s dream, ensuring that every single trip enjoyed by Surtrek’s travelling passengers is as seamlessly executed and thoroughly enjoyed as those very first guided treks, two decades ago.
Through Discover Your South America, there is now an unrivalled ability to create your own perfect tour, leaning on Surtrek’s long understanding of the continent, though adapting every element of your vacation to suit the endless opportunities and unforgettable experiences which this mesmerising part of the world is able to offer.
The only question that remains is: ‘When and where does my South American adventure begin?’
