🚂✨ Exciting news from Colombia!

This morning, I stumbled upon a fantastic video showing the beautifully renovated steam locomotive running in Cisneros – a key station on the historic Medellín to Puerto Berrío Railroad. I had no idea there was a project underway to reactivate this iconic train! 🚉

Cisneros is one of the highlights of our Coffee & Rum by Rail tour. From here, we hop on the famous “Brujitas” – motorbikes on rails – for a thrilling ride to Santiago. Along the way, we pass through the legendary 5km-long tunnel between Limón and Santiago. It’s an unforgettable part of the journey! 🌄

🚂 Journey Through Time: Talca to Constitución on the Último Ramal 🇨🇱

If you’re looking for one of the most scenic and authentic train rides in Chile, the Último Ramal from Talca to Constitución is an experience you can’t miss. These vintage Ferrobuses are a piece of living history, but they won’t be around forever – soon, they’ll be replaced by modern trains.

🌄 Journey Through the Quebrada de las Conchas

Not all parts of our Buenos Aires to Lima adventure take place on rails, but every twist and turn reveals something extraordinary. The Quebrada de las Conchas, located between Cafayate and Alemania in northwestern Argentina, is one of those unforgettable highlights. This striking gorge, with its vibrant red rock formations and winding rivers, feels like stepping into a natural sculpture garden shaped by time.

Interestingly, there were once plans to extend the railway deep into this valley, but the tracks only made it as far as Alemania – a charming village that now marks the entrance to this otherworldly landscape. The path we follow winds through dramatic cliffs and layered rocks, creating an unforgettable journey by road.

On our way from Cafayate to Salta, we pass through this breathtaking area, stopping to admire the incredible scenery and unique geological formations. It’s a moment of quiet reflection and appreciation for the raw beauty of Argentina’s northwest.
