Congratulations to the Galapagos community and the Government of , where today President Lasso signed a decree for a new marine protected area near the Galapagos Islands. The new 60,000 km² area protects the marine corridor, which connects the Galapagos Marine Reserve to the newly expanded marine reserves around Cocos Island, Costa Rica.

This international collaboration and sovereign action protects sea life such as whale sharks, manta rays and dolphins. It also expands the marine protected area around the Galapagos to 198,000 km², more than twice the size of Portugal.

El Volcan Cayambe al atardecer:

Las Montañas Ecuatorianas están recibiendo muchos visitantes de todo el Ecuador en época de pandemia, la mayoría intenta llegar hasta sus refugios y unos pocos mas intrépidos se aventuran a conquistar sus cumbres. hasta allí todo es positivo y Felicito a los aventureros y todos los que buscan el sano esparcimiento al aire libre, solo tengo un par de recomendaciones muy importantes que hacerles:

1.- Para aventurarse a la cumbre de una montaña se deben tomar todas las precauciones de seguridad, ademas de una preparación adecuada lo ideal es ir con guías expertos en alta montaña que nos darán la seguridad necesaria

2.- Se requiere de equipo especial, (ropa, equipo técnico, calzado etc.) ya sea para ascender a la cumbre, pero también para ir hasta el refugio, no es el mismo equipo para los dos casos, por lo que recomendamos asesorarse adecuadamente, así podrá disfrutar de este tipo de excursiones sin riesgos.

3.- Lo mas importante, ser respetuosos con la naturaleza es responsabilidad de todos los ecuatorianos y visitantes de cuidarla y protegerla:
- No ir con sus vehículos 4X4 por cualquier lado, seguir siempre el camino.
- No Grafitear ni pintar las piedras o los arboles
- No cazar ni agredir a la fauna de las áreas protegidas
- No hacer fogatas porque se pueden provocar incendios de impredecibles consecuencias
- no botar basura ni ningún tipo de desechos en la montaña, debemos traer de vuelta toda nuestra basura de la montaña.
- si vemos a alguien agrediendo a la naturaleza en alguna de estas formas, es nuestra responsabilidad, defenderla y exigir respeto de ser el caso.

Part of the experience of visiting Torres del Paine in Patagonia in South America is the climate — as intense as it is unpredictable.
