Travelers (like you!) can stay in their villages, join daily life, and experience their traditions. Every visit helps preserve Kichwa heritage and supports community projects that sustain their way of life.

Meet the Galapagos Cactus-finch

This common cactus finch is one of the 18 species of Darwin’s famous finches. Famous due to the part they played in shaping Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.

Known for its long, pointed beak, this bird is perfectly adapted to feed on the nectar, seeds, and pulp of the opuntia cactus. It’s a specialist species that thrives alongside these cacti, helping with pollination and seed dispersal in the unique ecosystem of the Galapagos. This one was caught in action snacking on an opuntia cactus on Santa Cruz Island where they're easily spotted.

The Galapagos Islands are full of surprises, from unique creatures to incredible landscapes. What’s your favorite Galapagos animal?

📢Heads up!

Playa Mann, on San Cristobal island, Galapagos is temporarily closed to protect the incredible wildlife that calls it home.

The Galapagos Environmental Authority is working to strengthen controls regarding tourist management, cleaning services, waste collection, water safety, and signage, among other actions that must comply with the Municipio, to ensure a balance between public use and conservation of biodiversity.

It is a temporary measure and there are other beaches to enjoy on San Cristobal island, like Punta Carola and La Loberia.

Actions like this are a reminder of why the Galapagos is so special. Every visit is a privilege. Respecting National Park rules and keeping your distance (2 m/6.5 ft) from animals helps protect this fragile ecosystem for future explorers.

Nature leads here. We follow.

Plan ahead, stay informed, and travel responsibly.

Do you know where the tango originated? 💃

Argentina, Buenos Aires, to be exact! It dates back to the 1880s, when this passionate dance emerged from the city’s vibrant neighborhoods, blending influences from Europe, Africa, and local traditions. Today, it’s a symbol of Argentine culture that continues to mesmerize the world.

But Argentina is much more than tango, it’s a country of breathtaking diversity:

🏔 Ride through the majestic Andes mountains
🚣‍♂️ Kayak along crystal-clear rivers that cut through rugged terrain and valleys
🍷 Savor world-class wines in Mendoza, where vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see

Argentina is a cultural explosion waiting to ignite your wanderlust. Bold, unique, and unforgettable.

When will you leap and experience it for yourself?

Building a Future for Galapagos Corals 🪸

At Rebecca Adventure Travel, conservation isn’t just a buzzword, it’s a way of life. Our marketing manager, Charli, is proud to volunteer weekly with the Parque Nacional Galápagos coral restoration project, supported by Galápagos Conservancy where women scientists lead groundbreaking efforts to restore these fragile ecosystems.

Recently, Charli joined an incredible Women for Coral Conservation workshop, uniting women in the community to take action. The day was a mix of inspiration and action, learning about the vital role of corals in marine ecosystems, their struggle to recover since the 1980s, and rolling up sleeves to prepare coral fragments for restoration.

Every piece of coral replanted and every effort made contributes to a healthier future for our oceans. It’s projects like this that remind us how travel and conservation go hand in hand. Together, we can explore responsibly and leave a positive impact on the places we love.
