All Aboard!!

What a great day trip to do for those who live in the Guayaquil / Playas / Salinas areas.

Ecuador has recently re-vamped its rail system to accomodate turism only and what a nice job they have done!!

In this case, the Duran-Bucay-Duran day trip was perfect for a full day of relaxing sight-seeing.

The cars were all in excellent condition, clean as can be, and the staff's customer service (bi-lingual!) was top notch.

The train leaves at 8am from the Duran station and returns approximately at 5pm. There are several stops all along the way where passengers disembark and can shop, eat or listen to a cultural exposition.

The final destination of Bucay offers about 2 hours to eat lunch, do shopping, or wander the streets to find the stairway leading up to the Virgen del Carmen statue watching over the city.

A must-see trip for anyone looking to do something different!!!

This Saturday in Salinas starts the Opening of the Whale Season!!!

There will be a sand-castle building contest on the beach on Saturday from 9-12 with the first place prize of $100.

This is a free event, however, participants must sign up in advance. (Only tools allowed are a shovel and the figure must be a whale-oriented one).

To sign up, please stop by the Pioneer Travel office, to fill out the forms.
