Birdwatching on Galapagos Sky 🐦

While scuba diving is at the heart of our adventures, Galapagos Sky offers a unique opportunity for birdwatching enthusiasts. At the start of our itinerary, we visit North Seymour Island—our first land excursion before a week of diving! 🙌🏼

Here, guests can observe some of the Galapagos’ most iconic bird species, including Magnificent and Great Frigatebirds, Blue-footed bo***es, Swallow-tailed gulls, amongst others.

This visit is a rare chance for divers who love birds to connect with the land-based wonders of the Galapagos before exploring its underwater treasures. And don’t forget to keep an eye out during navigation—juvenile red-footed bo***es often hang out on the sundeck or fly around the boat, adding a special touch to your time aboard. 👀

As we wrap up 2024, we’re reflecting on an incredible year aboard Galapagos Sky. 🦈

This year, we kept exploring the remote dive sites of Darwin and Wolf, experiencing strong currents, dynamic conditions, and the unique underwater environment of the Galapagos. Every dive brought new challenges and unforgettable moments, reinforcing why this destination is a favorite for advanced divers. 🙌🏼

NOVEMBER in the Galapagos marks the end of an incredible whale shark season, a time when these gentle giants migrate through the northern waters, especially around the iconic dive sites of Darwin and Wolf. 🌊

For months, divers have been treated to the awe-inspiring experience of sharing the ocean with these amazing creatures, which can reach up to 40 feet in length. 🦈

As the season closes, we already look forward to their return next year. The whale shark season not only showcases the Galapagos as a world-class diving destination but also reminds us of the importance of conservation efforts to protect these magnificent creatures and their ocean home.

IF you asked us about sharks, we would tell you they are beautiful, misunderstood creatures. 🦈

But if you asked us on a deeper level, we would tell you that an ocean without sharks is a world out of balance.
Sharks are the guardians of the seas, maintaining the health of our oceans by keeping the ecosystem in check. They are stunning, resilient, and essential to the survival of countless marine species. Without them, the delicate harmony of the ocean would be lost. 😞

And that we hope that one day people stop fearing them, give them a chance and give their all to protect them. 💙
