ONCE AGAIN, THE ARAL SEA!
The Aral Sea was the 4th largest lake in the world.
The Aral Sea is a lake located within the borders of Kazakhstan - Karakalpakstan. In previous years, it was the second largest lake in Asia and the fourth largest in the world with a surface area of 68,000 km². In recent years, it has lost 90% of its former surface area due to excessive irrigation.
The Aral Sea, located between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, is now the youngest desert in the world and is known as the "Aral sand desert".
The Aral was used in an unplanned manner and as a result, all the water flowing into the lake from the Syr Darya and a part of the source coming from the Amu Darya stopped.
The country doubled its cotton production, and as a result, the loss of the lake was inevitable.
The giant rusted ships left on the sands are like the skeleton of the magnificent Aral Sea from the past...
