ICE (Institute of civil engineering) is an international membership organization that promotes and advances civil engineering around the world. ICE is a qualifying body, a center for the exchange of specialist knowledge, and a provider of resources to encourage innovation and excellence in the profession worldwide. Today, ICE has over 80,000 members across the world. But, despite the tremendous ad
vances in technology and the growth of the engineering profession,
ICE has the same purpose as it did when it was founded nearly two centuries ago, that purpose is to qualify professionals engaged in civil engineering, exchange knowledge and best practice, and promote their contribution to society. ICE members help to create the structures and systems that sustain society. They are responsible for designing, building, maintaining and improving bridges, roads, canals, docks, office buildings, hospitals, schools, airports, power stations, railways, flood defenses, water-treatment facilities... everywhere. ICE makes sure that the high standards needed to become a professional civil engineer are met. Professionals who are awarded membership of our Institution are among the best in the world. As future engineers in the years to come, students shall be exposed to international organizations that may help them much, not only knowledge wise, but also including preparations as well as experiences. Through active participations in any clubs, students are coached and shaped in many aspects such as leadership skills, communication skills, teamwork application, networking ability, thinking intelligence and much more, before they are able to stand strong on their own during working paths. With the ICE Student Branch in HTI, students of Civil Engineering are able to enjoy the benefits that ICE offers. Privileges likewise, students of Civil Engineering can get connected to the international level of Civil Engineering. Through this connection, students will be exposed internally and externally to meet up the global challenges and requirements that Civil Engineering possesses. ICE shares knowledge with their members, which have provided useful information and knowledge for students in the need for research-based projects. Not only that, students of Civil Engineering may expand their circle of Civil Engineers-mate worldwide, exchanging thoughts, opinions, knowledge and experiences. Through this students of Civil Engineering will grow and mature more in terms of knowledge and experience that is suffice to step abroad any country to start his or her career. The ICE Student Branch will be offering an international level of deep knowledge, experience, worldwide conferences and seminars to the students of Civil Engineering.
