Cairo Rhythm House was founded by Sabrine El Hossamy, also known as Sabrine Darbuka. Our philosophy regarding music education is to be as all-inclusive as possible. We believe that music should be available for everyone and we don’t believe that talent is the only reason why we should pursue learning a musical instrument. Music is good for us in so many ways. Walking the streets of Cairo, We questioned what tabla means for Egyptians. A young guy suggested to create a hashtag and call it el tabla esloub haya #الطبلهاسلوبحياه
That was back in 2017. Today incorona times. I open the floor to hashtag this one. #الطبله-اسلوب-حياه anyone playing tabla as an amateur and lover of rhythms can post a video on this hashtag. 1 or 2 minute long.

Darbuka workshop for Beginners By Sabrine El Hossamy

Do you want to feed your soul and free your mind? Do you want to express yourself ?
Do you want to learn how to play darbuka from day one?

The darbuka beginners course, gives an introduction to the famous“split finger technique” , we also teach all aspects of Darbuka Drumming from the popular Middle Eastern rhythms like Maqsoum, Zar, Malfuf and Saidi moving towards the intermediate level with more contemporary non-traditional rhythms.

Our motive is to spread joy of Darbuka playing. Our classes are light hearted and fun so students can feel at home. In this workshop the students will learn:

● Basics of dArbuka rhythms
● Basic split finger techniques
● Rhythm logic
● Popular Middle Eastern rhythms for Darbuka: Maqsoum, Zar, Malfuf and Saidi

The length of the course is two months, a total of 16 hours.
Darbuka drums are provided.
Course price 1500 for the entire workshop
Timing :
● Every Sunday and Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30
● Session starts 23rd of feb till 14th of April. For booking call 01228001177.
