The texts of the tomb of Horemheb in and the beauty of the scenes carved on its walls, with their high quality, indicate the distinguished status of its owner in the state. Many stone fragments of wall inscriptions were also found during excavations conducted between 1975 and 1979 and then from 2004 to 2006. However, their location on the tomb walls was unclear, and therefore researchers were unable to integrate them into the scenes being restored during the recent restoration. These stone are now in storage near the in Saqqara, along with some fragments of statues of Horemheb and his wife. Another statue from this tomb is currently on display in . However, many other murals and statues from this tomb are currently distributed among 14 museums around the world, in Cairo, Europe, and the United States. These were discovered during an excavation carried out by archaeologists in the nineteenth century, when the transfer of antiquities outside Egypt was still permitted. Unfortunately, we have not found any report on these excavations. This site was forgotten until recent and related research revealed the identity of these artifacts and their original location. Beginning in 1985, museums containing parts of the tomb's inscriptions began sending modern models of these parts to Egypt. These copies were placed in their places among the original inscriptions engraved on the tomb's walls. Now, in the tomb's outer courtyard, there is a model of a tablet located in , England. As for the inner courtyard, there are models of parts currently located in the (Italy), , , , , and . A model of the inscriptions of Nubian prisoners was placed in the Archaeological Museum in Bologna, Italy. Recently, in 2013, it was acquired using laser scanning technology by Protolab ESEA Laboratories in Bologna, sponsored by in the Italian city of Imola, the Rotary Club of Imola, and the Company. However, the scenes engraved on the walls of Horemheb's tomb cannot be completed now because the tomb was used as an easily exploited quarry in ancient times, and therefore many of the engraved pieces have disappeared forever.”

The tomb of Pay and Raia was excavated in 1994-1998 by a joint expedition of the Egyptian exploration society in London and the national Museum of antiquity in Leiden under the auspices of the supreme council of antiquity of Egypt. It had already been discovered around 1828, when various parts were taken to the archaeological museum in Florence and the louvre in Paris.
