How to make a mummy:

1. Begin by purifying the body with a mixture of wine and Nile water. Then, with great reverence, carefully remove the organs. The brain is retrieved through the nose with a specialized hook.

2. The organs are then prepared for preservation in four canopic jars, adorned with the likeness of protective deities. The heart, considered the seat of intelligence, is returned to the body.

3. To eliminate moisture, the body is treated with natron, a sacred Egyptian salt. This process takes about 40 days to complete.

4. After the natron is removed, the body is filled with spices, linen, and other materials to ensure its shape is maintained.

5. With the utmost care, the body is wrapped in fine linen bandages, accompanied by lucky amulets and the recitation of protective spells.

6. Finally, the mummy is placed in a series of coffins, and ultimately laid to rest in a tomb.

On this day, we celebrate the remarkable rescue of Abu Simbel Temple! 🏛️🌅

Abu Simbel Temple is an ancient Egyptian historical landmark. Originally built in the 13th century BC, it was entirely relocated to prevent it from being submerged in the waters of the Nile during the construction of the Aswan High Dam in the 1960s. 🌊

This magnificent temple stands as a testament to the incredible construction techniques of the ancient pharaohs, featuring colossal statues of King Ramesses II and his royal wife, Nefertari. It is one of the most important tourist attractions in Egypt and a major draw for travelers from around the world. 🌍✨

Come and witness the awe-inspiring sight of Abu Simbel Temple and dive into the history of ancient Egypt! Join us on this incredible journey. 🇪🇬💫

🖤Mummification🖤👉🏼The body was wrapped in hundreds of meters of linen, and embalmers also carefully wrapped long strips around the body, sometimes even covering each finger and toe separately before wrapping the entire limb. After a few layers, the body was coated with warm resin to set the fabric.

Located in the southern city of Luxor, the Colossi of Memnon are two giant statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. They were built out of blocks of quartzite sandstone and measure eighteen meters high. Both figures sit on thrones carved with imagery of the pharaoh's mother, wife, and the Nile god Hapy. In a more ancient time, they marked the entrance to what had been the mortuary temple of Amenhotep, which was supposedly larger than anything else built in Egypt. While the distinct pharaoh shape of each statue is still noticeable today, one of the two has been partially destroyed; however, legend says the lower half is known to sing and that hearing this song blesses the listener with good fortune

The Karnak Temple Complex is a vast and awe-inspiring collection of temples, pylons, chapels, and other buildings in Luxor, Egypt. It is the largest religious complex ever built and was dedicated to the god Amun, Mut, and Khonsu.

Construction at Karnak began during the Middle Kingdom (2040-1640 BC) and continued for over 2,000 years. The complex is home to some of the most iconic landmarks in Egypt, including the Hypostyle Hall, the Great Pylon, and the Avenue of Sphinxes.

Women in ancient Egypt were revered as superior and more sacred than men, being considered the source of life and wisdom. It was believed that a man who attained great knowledge, spirituality, and power could earn the right to wear a long-haired wig, which symbolized his attainment of a level equal to that of a woman. The woman was seen as a source of strength and protection for her man, and it is a saying that still circulates today that behind every successful man is a strong woman supporting him.

Central ventilation in ancient Egyptian temples 👀😳

Designing the openings in this geometric way to generate an air current with the pressure difference between the two parts, the narrower and the wider, represents a genius way to ventilate the temples through these geometric openings. It is known that pressure refraction also reduces the temperature, producing a cool air current that differs from the temperature outside the temple.

The mummy of His Majesty "Seti I". Even after his death, you can see that he was a handsome man. He was so perfectly mummified that you would think he was just sleeping. Seti was the second pharaoh of the 19th dynasty and the father of Ramesess the Great. Although I have great respect for Ramesess and consider him to be one of the greatest kings (in the history of the world), I believe that his father also deserves the title “Great”.

Admittedly, Ramesess is the spitting image of his father
