Most of its streets are closed with iron fences for fear that visitors will get lost and not know how to return.

There is also in the catacombs a coffin of the priest Ankh-Hor, the priest of the god Thoth. It dates back to the Twenty-Sixth Dynasty. The coffin lid alone weighs about 8 tons. The mummy was transferred to the Egyptian Museum while the stone coffin remained.

These vaults were full of treasures, but they were destroyed and stolen, confirming that the region retains many of its secrets.
