Thirty four years drinking the stuff and finally made it to @estrellagalicia Jacobo the guide brilliant.
Festas da Patrona Cedeira, no 17° for me. Profoundly moving, even though I'm not religious in any way today.
Racking in progress at @lariojaaltasa This is the process of transferring wine from one barrel to another. The shout of OK at the end was our guide Rocío moving 20 of us on to the next area of the winery. The tasting was fine, although 20 people are perhaps a little too many for the actual size of the room. You couldn’t swing a cat in there.
First visit to the new Tienda-Restaurante @amundina in C/del Padre Feijoo. All very good, including the famous bocata de cigalas or langoustine roll (18€). We drank Eidos de Salgosa (Rías Baixas - O Rosal) by the @cazapitas boys, a lively coupage of loureiro, albariño, cagarrucho & caiño blanco. Second bottle was El Paraguas Atlántico 2020 by the @bodegaselparaguas boys, a top notch Ribeiro that in the absence of a pic didn't must be mentioned in dispatches. Lighting in the place somewhat subdued so the pics aren't quite my best effort. A lovely triple sweet of sweet wines to close the proceedings. We'll definitely be back.
Not all food and wine. Detroit Soul par excellence from 1967, Jimmy 'Soul' Clark on Soul Hawk, an imprint of the long defunct Palmer Records. Guarda a fe!!
