Featured in the Geneva to Nice route over La Route des Grandes Alpes, Col de la Bonette is one of the most iconic climbs in the French Alps. Here’s what makes it special:

🏁 Climbed in the 2008 Tour de France – the highest point ever reached in the race.

📏 26km in length – it's the distance, not the gradient, that tests your legs.

📈 Average gradient: 6.4% with ramps up to 15% near the top.

🧗‍♀️ The loop to Cime de la Bonette brings you to 2802m – the highest paved through road in Europe.

🌄 Scenery shifts dramatically as you climb above the tree line.

🧊 Expect big temperature swings – from 30°C in the valley to 5°C at the summit.
