Vera welcomes the 'return' of the blue flag to Playazo
The concession for this year of one of the blue flags of the Almeria coast to what is the most emblematic beach of the municipality of Vera, El Playazo, has been received with great pleasure within the City Council of Vera, whose government team is chaired by José Carmelo Jorge White.
The local government of Vera is pleased that this sandbank, surely the best known in the town of Vera and which has a wide area for the practice of naturism, once again obtains this prestigious recognition of quality "after so long without achieving it", they expose from the Consistory.
Through its official communication channels, the Vera City Council expresses that "it is a recognition of the task carried out by the Vera City Council together with the concessionaire companies of the beaches, for which we want to take this opportunity to thank all the people who make it possible, and who with their work turn Vera into a top-level tourist destination".
It is the only blue flag that the Veratense town will have, which for several years had been one of the few points on the Almeria coast that did not have this quality certification, and which can undoubtedly help the already powerful Veratense tourism sector related to the sun and beach is strengthened even more. Thus, the return of Vera, together with that of the nearby town of Cuevas del Almanzora, means that this year the province has 11 towns with beaches recognized with one or more blue flags.
This certificate, granted by Adeac, confirms that there are good rescue and lifeguard services, accessibility and communication. Vera thus joins the 'select club' of municipalities in Almería that have one of these certifications: Pulpí (4 flags), Mojácar (6), Carboneras (3), Níjar (2), Almería (2), Roquetas de Mar (6), El Ejido (4), Adra (4), Balanegra (1), Cuevas del Almanzora (2) and Vera (1).
Contribution to the growth of Andalusian beaches
The blue flag for El Playazo contributes to Andalusia being the Autonomous Community that experiences the greatest increase in the number of recognized beaches in the summer of 2022, since it will display blue flags in a total of 122, after adding an additional seven this year. Malaga is the province that leads in this section, with 36 beaches, followed by Almería, with 35, in a list updated this Wednesday and that as a novelty includes for the first time the recognition of a continental bathing area in Córdoba.
In total, adding marinas and sustainable boats, Andalusia gets 145 Blue Flags this year, according to the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac). Of this total, 122 distinctions correspond to beaches, 21 to marinas and two to sustainable boats, which is the best data for the community since this mention was granted.
