Leeming Wells Hotel in Oxenhope, West Yorkshire, part of the Olympus Group, was shortlisted for “The best Hotel in Bradford” at the Telegraph & Argus hospitality awards.
We were in the top 3.
It was a fabulous evening and part of the “Bradford, City of Culture 2025”, celebrations. Well done to all of our team at Leeming Wells and ‘The Dog and Gun’. We are really proud of you all 👏👏👏.

Here we are (Tony, Mike, Ivan) with Mike Booth. Mike is suffering with a difficult cancer, but is fighting on. He was instrumental in our marketing program that made Club Olympus what it is. We all owe him a giant debt of gratitude. He is a friend and Olympus family member who made all of what we do possible. He is in a Hospice at the moment but is full of life and good humour. He was my mentor and great friend. We wish him total love, comfort and great gratitude. Those of you that remember and know him will wish him absolutely all the best👍

Everyone at Olympus and Garden City always ask how mum (Jane) is doing? Well she is doing great. Being beautifully looked after by Jodie (my sister) and husband Jono back in the UK. She would rather be in Tenerife for the warmth but gets fabulous care in the UK. She misses you all and sends tons of love 👍😘❤️

Today, we said goodbye to our friend and colleague Ricardo. He has been with us for many years and we don’t think any hotel or complex has had a better lifeguard than Ricardo. He has looked after generations of kids, taught many to swim, almost babysat dozens of youngsters, helped everybody, did more work than he was ever asked to do, saved some kids and adults lives, made sure everyone was safe and we owe him a giant debt of gratitude. We will miss him enormously. Thank you our friend and huge part of the Olympus family. ❤️

Thursday afternoon and we are ‘Rockin’. Loads of friends in today, Danielle singing for us, our friend Vivian is here (of Wheelchair fencing fame). Big Dave is in the house and Mama Mel is looking after us all. Superb day 👍

Someone just asked on Facebook what they should do when they come to Tenerife for the first time. I commented this but please add other ideas.

Driven up to Teide, had Adeje chicken, ordered a Baraquito coffee, been to lunch at ‘El Cine bar’, swum in the sea, visited the ‘Ecological Park’, visited Siam Waterpark ( listed as the best in the world) enjoyed Dorada beer, go on a whale and dolphin trip, been to La Caleta or Los Abrigos for a seafood lunch/dinner, hired a car or taken trips to Puerto de la Cruz in the north, tried Honey Rum (Ron miel), gone Game Fishing on the Happy Ho**er 👍👍😝😝

A bit of a landmark for our favourite pub. The Dog and Gun is next door to our centre of operations at Leeming Wells. Mick and Kath Roper have, for years, looked after our guests and it is the 30th anniversary of them looking after this superb hostelry. L to R, Tony, mum Jane, Mick, Jodie, Kath and Jodie. We are family with these guys and send them congratulations and tons of love. 👍❤️😘

Good days fishing on the Happy Ho**er today. Plenty of Skipjacks, loads of Barracuda and I also caught a big fat Moray Eel, it was so beautiful and vital that we put it back, even though the Spanish view it as a delicacy. Barracuda is almost indistinguishable from Haddock so they get eaten. Great day 👍 Oh and a pic of Rex, the ship dog

Well Tapas bars are now pretty rare, however, in Los Cristianos is the Hideaway bar. Brilliant menu with 30 Tapas, lovely old world, smallish, typical Spanish place. Wonderful quality, great service. Plenty of outside space, excellent wine list. The Belgian Boss ‘Liva’ is a delight, give it a go
