Pan con Tomate has only five ingredients—bread, tomato, olive oil, garlic, and salt. Sounds easy?
Don't let the simplicity of this dish fool you. The secret to the amazing taste is the right tomatoes. You need very riped and juicy ones 🍅

Also, don't forget to add a generous amount of olive oil and salt. Enjoy all the steps of the cooking process, that is the key to the awesome result!

Do you know what the word PAELLA means?
Do you think it's a dish? Then you'll be surprised to find out it's the pan itself! 🥘

In Catalan and Valencian languages, any shallow frying pan is called paella. If you enter any store with cooking appliances in Barcelona, you will see them labeled as such! I took a picture to show the proof 😜

Of course, the very original paella pan is the one with two handles, which will be called "paella" in any language.

And the original name of the rice dish cooked in it was Arroz a la paella, which means "rice cooked in a frying pan." Later it got shortened to simply "paella." It's also common to call the pan "paellera" to avoid confusion, although it is technically incorrect.

Not for the first time in history the dish takes its name after the tool!
Take BBQ for an example: Is it a dish or a grill stove we cook our meat on? Or wok that we so often refer to when we mean stir-fried dishes.
The same happened to paella! :)

Curiously, from the beginning paella was a dish for poor people. Peasants cooked dinner in the fields in a wide pan on an open fire adding all ingredients they had at hand and what they could allow themselves.
Paella was cooked for many people, for all the field workers to eat together right from the pan!

The tradition to cook in huge paella pans is still very alive in Spain. This size of the pan is ideal for heart-warming family reunions! :)

Hi everyone!
Here is my Vegetarian Paella recipe that suits VEGANS 🥘🥘🥘!

Simple ingredients: mushrooms 🍄, veggies 🍅🌶️🫑🧄, rice 🍚, vegetable stock 🍜, Spanish Paprika🌶️, and Saffron🌸.

Ingredients for 2 servings 🧑‍🍳👩‍🍳:

🍚Rice 200g
🍜Stock 800ml. If you're cooking with a large pan like me take 1L of stock.
🍄 Mushrooms 200-300g
🌳Artichoke 2
☘️Flat beans 150-200g
🍅Tomatoes 2
🧄Garlic 2 cloves
🌸Saffron 10-15 threats
🌶️Sweet smoked paprika 1,5 tsp
🫒Extra virgin olive oil 3 tbsp

For 2 servings use a pan with about 12-13 inches/ 30-33 cm bottom size. Size of pan is important for your rice texture and flavor!  Ideally, to make your paella with thin layer of rice. This will gives the best tasting! Also the size of the pan affects the proportion of rice & stock. For example, if you want to cook 4 servings in the same size pan you will need less stock.

Steps:
Fry mushrooms first about 3 min, when mushrooms have vaporized their liquid, add your other vegetables: flat beans, artichoke, peas, sweet pepper and fry all together about 5 min more until all your ingredients look well fried. 
Move all your vegetables from the center to the outer edge of the pan. Put garlic in the center of the pan and fry it for about 10 –15 sec. 
Then move garlic from the center of the pan and add tomatoes in the center of the pan, add sweet paprika, mix it with tomatoes and fry about 1-2 min. 
Add rice and fry all together for about 1 min more. 
Add hot stock, add saffron, turn on the highest heat you have, and boil about 7-10min. Look out not to burn.  
When you see that about ~3/4 of your stock has vaporized, reduce heat to the minimum.  
Keep your paella on low heat for about 5 min more.   
When you see that all your stock has vaporized, stop the fire.  
Cover the pan with a towel or paper and leave it to rest for 5 – 7 min. 
After 5 – 7 min uncover and decorate with lemon and parsley.
