🚀 The Spanish Startup Residency Program, in compliance with laws 14/2013 and 28/2022 🇪🇸
Is the Spanish Startup Residency Program right for you?

Co-founders of innovative business projects and their families could be awarded a startup residency permit - residencia para emprendedores Ley 14/2013.

📆 Initial residency is granted for three years, effective from 23rd December 2022, which can subsequently be extended for an additional two years. After a total of five years, the application for permanent residency becomes viable.

Advantages 👍:
✔️ Residency is granted for three years, with the entitlement to work and establish a business.
✔️ Spouses, who also have a right to work, and children are eligible for residency, and parents can potentially be included as well.
✔️ There's no requirement to obtain a D visa at the consulate. Once the business plan is approved, the residency application is immediately accepted.
✔️ Each project participant and family member can arrive and apply independently, at a time that suits them.

Requirements ✅:
✔️ Legal status in Spain (Schengen visa or any other document that signifies legal entry into Spain).
✔️ A team of 4-5 project participants (co-founders).
✔️ A business plan for the proposed project.
✔️ The project must incorporate an innovative, technological component.
✔️ The project must facilitate job creation in Spain.
✔️ The project and roles of the participants should align with their respective work experiences.
✔️ The business plan must satisfy specific content requirements (as detailed in the business plan requirements below).
✔️ A bank statement showing the necessary funds (as stipulated in the amount requirements below).

💶💱💼Financial resources. You need to show for yourself 200% SMI = 25,920€ for one year.
for dependent family members (partner). For one year, ADDITIONALLY show +75% SMI to the main applicant = 9,720€
+3,780€ (for the third family member and so on) 25%SMI.

🌍🇪🇸 Are you planning to become a digital nomad in sunny Spain? ☀️🏖️ There's a critical step you might not be aware of: Sworn Translations (Traducción Jurada).

👨‍⚖️ A sworn translator in Spain, also known as a 'Traductor Jurado', is a professional who is authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation to translate official documents.

📜 These official translations are essential for documents such as:
1️⃣ Criminal record certificate (with apostille)
2️⃣ Marriage/Birth certificates (there are cases where Jurado isn't required)
3️⃣ Contract/Agreement
4️⃣ Company registration date confirmation (certificates, etc.)
5️⃣ Diploma. If there's no diploma - documents confirming 3 years of work experience (CV can be simply in Spanish)

🔍💼 You can find these translators through the Official List provided by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.

🔑💡The Jurado translation is essential for obtaining your Digital Nomad Visa in Spain, as the Spanish authorities need to ensure the information provided is both accurate and legitimate.

💰 As for pricing, it can vary depending on the complexity and length of the documents. However, a rough estimation can range between 40 to 80 euros per page. It's wise to contact several translators for quotes.

📚 All other documents can be translated on your own or through simple translators like DeepL. Remember, always upload first the translation, followed by the original.

📁 If your original is a PDF with a digital signature (DocuSign), just bundle it in a zip file.

🌐 Going through the process of becoming a digital nomad can be complex, but with a bit of preparation and the right guidance, you'll soon be enjoying the tapas lifestyle under the Spanish sun. 😎🏝️🍷

"DECLARACIÓN DE ENTRADA" Hey, Digital Nomads! 🌍💻 Remember, it's crucial to have evidence of your entry and your legal stay in Spain! 📆

If you're coming to Spain directly, your passport stamp is the best proof.✈️ But, if you're entering through another Schengen airport first, you'll only get stamped there, and you'll need additional proof for your actual entry date to Spain. This applies for land travel too. 🚄🚗

The most widely accepted proof is the 'ENTRADA' form 📜, which you can get stamped and signed at the nearest National Police Office within 72 hours of arrival in Spain. Wondering how to secure this 'declaración de entrada'? Let's break it down:

1️⃣ Easy Way: Perfect for air travel. Just visit the airport police and request a "declaracion de entrada" within 72 hours. ✈️👮‍♂️
2️⃣ Complicated Way: Didn't get the form at the airport? Head to the police in the nearest city or town. Stand your ground, as some officers may not understand the importance of this document for visa purposes. 🏙️👮‍♀️

No 'declaración de entrada'? No problem! Here are a few alternatives:

Notarise something in Spain (like a passport copy) 📝🛂
Save your booking confirmations, boarding passes from connecting flights add it in a cover letter 🎫✈️
Make purchases with your bank card on your arrival day (like getting petrol, withdrawing cash from an ATM, lunch receipts etc.) 💳💰
If you're staying at a hotel on your arrival day, get an invoice with your name on it or even a sworn statement 🏨🧾
To apply for your stay, you must be in Spain, with a valid visa and the 90/180 stay not expired.

Stay safe, stay legal, and enjoy your digital nomad journey in Spain! 🇪🇸👋

📝 Applying for Digital Nomad Residency in Spain

If you aim to secure residency as a Digital Nomad in Spain, you are required to submit your application online through a designated portal. Please note that even though the application process is conducted online, you are required to be within Spanish territory.

All documents are to be submitted to the UGE (Unidad de Grandes Empresas) online, using a digital signature (cl@ve, FNMT). Acquiring a digital signature could be somewhat cumbersome (you will need an NIE), so it might be easier to find someone who already has this signature and apply through them. This individual could be a friend, an agent or a lawyer.

💼 Application Submission Form (https://expinterweb.inclusion.gob.es/iley11/inicio/showTramites.action?proc=1&procedimientoSel=200)

❓ Where to get a Digital Signature?

1) You can use the cl@ve of a friend, acquaintance, or a helping person. For this, you will need a power of attorney. Please note that all additional requests and notifications regarding the application will be sent to the owner of the signature. It's critical that they keep you updated promptly!

2) If you have an NIE, you can obtain a certificate here: https://www.sede.fnmt.gob.es/certificados/persona-fisica

📜 The initial residency permit is issued for a period of 3 years (or for the term of your contract with your employer if it's less than 3 years) with an option to extend for another 2 years. Subsequently, you can apply for Permanent Residency, and then, if desired, citizenship.

🇪🇸💉👩‍⚕️🩺💼 Just thought I'd share a bit about my experience with the medical system in Spain! I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality and availability of healthcare services here!👏

If you're a digital nomad who's self-employed and planning on moving here, there are some key points to note. One of the first steps is to sign a pledge that you'll start an activity as an Autonomo, essentially becoming a self-employed individual in Spain. 🤓💼

Doing so means that you'll start paying social security, starting from a manageable 80 euros per month. This entitles you to a SIP health card, which guarantees you access to the excellent public healthcare system in Spain! 🩺💳

But what if you're not self-employed? That's where private health insurance comes in! In my experience, there are plenty of great options: DKV, Sanitas, Adeslas to name a few. The prices start from around 40 euros, depending on your age. They offer superb services. What's more, you can even schedule an appointment for the next day and get serviced in English. 📆👩‍⚕️🏥

There was even a time when I accidentally got service in Russian, and I hadn't even received my residency card yet! 🇷🇺👨‍⚕️

A bonus of some of these insurance policies is that they often cover dental and other medical services. So, not only do you have your general health covered, but you can also keep that smile shiny and bright! 😁

If you're considering a move to Spain, or even just curious about the healthcare system, I'd say it's well worth exploring. 🏥👏🌍
And here's a heads up, I'll be diving deeper into each of these insurance companies in my upcoming posts. So stay tuned if you want to learn more about each one and find the best fit for you! 📚🔍💡
Remember, our health is our greatest wealth. Stay healthy, wherever you may roam! 💪🌎

📝🌍 Here are some common mistakes people make when applying for the Digital Nomad residency via UGE! 🇪🇸🌞:

1️⃣ Forgot to sign the form 📃❌ - It might seem obvious, but you wouldn't believe how often this happens! Double-check before sending!

2️⃣ Did not justify lawful entry into Spain at the time of application 🛂⛔️ - if you don't have a valid legal status in Spain, your application will be rejected. Attach a stamp, visa, boarding pass, checks, write a cover letter if the situation isn't entirely clear, get a Declaration of Entry if entered from the EU or go to the nearest notary.

3️⃣ Missed the document request ⏱📩 - don't forget you only have 10 days to respond! Keep an eye on your email.

4️⃣ Checked the wrong boxes ✅❌ - read each item carefully before checking the box. An incorrectly checked box could be a reason for denial.

5️⃣ Showed salary in an unclear currency (not Euro) 💶❌ - remember, no one will convert the currency for you, it's your job. If you get your salary in a different currency, use a currency converter and attach screenshots to your application. It's very important as one of the conditions is a monthly income of more than 2520 euros. If the staff cannot quickly and easily verify this, they may just deny you. It's your job to present the information in a way that's easy to understand.

So, to sum it up, our recommendation is to approach this process responsibly and thoughtfully. Comply with all requirements and do everything possible to make it easier for the reviewers to see all the necessary details in your application. 📚✔️🌍

Remember: applying isn't just a formality, it's your chance to present yourself 🕴💼. If you have an unusual case, make sure you explained everything in detail so they can understand. Don't skip details because if an employee sees that you missed one of the requirements, it could lead to an immediate denial.

Ask away, I'm here to help! 😊🤝🏼🇪🇸
