The only constant in life is change, as you all know. 😅

It’s been a bit quiet on my social media accounts lately, but that‘s because a lot more has been happening „offline“.

Where to start? A few months ago, I was offered a new and exciting job opportunity in Vienna. And I said yes. Yes. I can’t quite believe it yet either. ☺️

Which means that since February, I am living between Barcelona and Vienna, spending most of the time in Austria‘s capital 🎡, but coming once a month to Barcelona ⚓️ for a week doing home office & spending quality time with family & friends. And some guiding.

As you can see on the first picture, my new job is at the Vienna Art Week (), heading operations of this contemporary art festival that has been celebrated annually for almost 20 years now. ✨ Picture 2 shows an example of contemporary art from Austria. ☺️

When I‘m in Barcelona, and time permits, I continue guiding, because it still is one of my passions and I really enjoy it. So if you‘re coming to Barcelona, let me know, and if I can‘t do it, I‘ll get you in touch with wonderful colleagues of mine. 😃

And, last but not least: Picture 3 & 4 disclose what I‘m really up to in Vienna. 😇😉

Sorry, that has become a rather long post, thanks for taking time to read all this.

Lots of love from (currently ☺️) Barcelona & if you come to Vienna, give me a shout too! I can‘t show you as much around as in Barcelona, but I can definitely take you to try the best chocolate cake in town. 😉🍫

Happy holiday season to all of you! ✨

As it’s been a while since my last post (as you can see, I’m not a great Instagrammer 😉😬), here goes a little update from Barcelona. Lots of love to all of you, I hope to see you again soon! 😘

Last week, I had the pleasure of taking around Barcelona’s innovation district. 🏭

We did not only enjoy the beautiful autumn sun, but I could also show Nicole some of the interesting corners of 22@, as this very modern, but also controversial neighbourhood of Barcelona is called.

Do you want to learn more about the city‘s new tech & AI hub? Then join me on a tour! Just send me a DM! 📩

And if you can’t come right now, then just have a look at ‘ great travel blog www.freibeuter-reisen.org! 👏 Only available in German, though, I‘m afraid. 😬

Dear FB friends, I am very excited to share some news with you!

Over the last year, my dear friend Cristina and I have been working on a new project that we are very passionate about:

We want to offer German-speaking women of all ages the opportunity to explore and experience Barcelona like a local for a long weekend. Off the beaten track, in a small group of max. 9 like-minded travellers, visiting places that are not in many guide books, meeting locals and delving into Catalan culture and gastronomy.
We love Barcelona and want to share its beauty and contradictions, but also make sure that it keeps its unique charme. Which is why we steer away from big crowds, visit local entrepreneurs and small nice shops and restaurants, to support the local economy.

We have decided to create this experience primarily for female solo travellers, since we feel that when travelling women join forces they create a very special energy. Our brand name Freisen actually derives from “women” and “travelling” in German.

Since our target (for the time being) are German-speaking female travellers, our website and social media are written in German.
Nevertheless, I want to invite all of you to have a look:

www.freisen.es / Freisen / Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/freisen.es/

And if you like it – please spread the word!! We are small and just starting, so very grateful if you want to share the love a bit. 😊

BTW: The first edition will take place from Oct 28 to Oct 31st! You´ll find more information, also about the Early Bird special price, on our website.

Thanks for your support! I hope you are all very well, wherever this finds you.

And I hope to see you soon again in Barcelona!

Love, Resi

Who spots the guide? 😂 Hidden behind masks, but enjoying my job more than ever. Thanks CEA Study Abroad - Barcelona for allowing me to share some of the most picturesque corners of Girona & Tossa de Mar with you & your students. Somehow we forgot to take a photo of the turquoise waters & the beach time at the end.. 🏖 But then again, some things are best enjoyed without taking pictures... 😉

A great escape up northwest to the beautiful town León following the footsteps of architect Antoni Gaudí, who designed a unique building for a businessman with Catalan origins here in 1892 - . Fascinating to observe how he applies innovative solutions here that he will use and even improve later on in other projects in Barcelona. Has anyone of you been here before?

It’s so nice to be back doing training courses - like this fantastic morning at , learning about their family tradition of agriculture & wine-making going back to 1385! Thanks for having us & thanks to the official guide association .cat for organising this great excursion. Salut!

Over the past few months, I wasn‘t very active here, because a beautiful project was in the making that demanded all my dedication. Now it is done and I am very excited to share a glimpse into its results:

This week we have opened the immersive exhibition KLIMT at the Barcelona, which I had the honor of curating together with my fantastic colleague Imma Fondevila.

The exhibition is dedicated to Austrian artist Gustav Klimt and does not only offer the visitors the possibility of immersing themselves in the artistic universe of Klimt with the help of 21st century technology, but also wants to highlight the historical context and, especially, the situation of women in Vienna and Barcelona and their struggle for freedom at the turn of the century.

I am very excited and grateful to have been part of this wonderful project!
Thanks to Imma Fondevila, Jordi Sellas and all the wonderful professionals involved at IDEAL Barcelona!

For those of you who are in town or can travel to Barcelona over the next months (it is programmed until Xmas) - I hope you can come and visit!
