Medieval Festival April 2012. Will you join us?
The Medieval Week is markets, games, courts, legends, dragons, drama and people dressed in the finery to recall the most wonderful years of the town.
The festival is not a religious or folkloric festivity, but historical set in the fourteenth century.
Medieval Week is not organized by any institution, but it is the result of merit and effort of people of the village, working each year in a completely disinterested way to make it possible.
St. George is the main character of the festival. As the legend explains... Saint George killed the dragon, liberating the beautiful princess.
On Saturday, April 21st, we will walk through the medieval market, see how the old trades worked and the little ones can learn how to be a medieval knight in the knight school. At night the best show of lights, fire and music is on in the old quarter of the village.
On Friday April 27th we will walk around the walled old quarter, follow the street medieval shows where noble maidens, representatives of the clergy, artisans, country people, troubadours, buffoons, horsemen and servants will parade. Dinner is special: The Royal Dinner is a spectacle for your senses, taste, hearing, touch, sight and smell. You can taste the finest foods cooked in typical medieval style, enjoy music and games that minstrels and fakir offer. You will fully feel as in medieval times.
On Sunday, April 29th, everyone is on the streets. Selling and buying in the market. Traditional food, old way of cooking and clothes as they used to be...we will walk through the medieval market between the horsemen, artisans and the beautiful princess. A new opportunity to learn to be a medieval knight in the knight school. When the sun is down, new shows on the streets and new XIV century characters will parade.
