Declaramos Estado de Emergencia Climática!

Nos hemos sumado a "Turismo Declara", una iniciativa que apoya a organizaciones, empresas y profesionales del sector turístico a declarar una emergencia climática y tomar medidas para reducir sus emisiones de carbono.

Según indica el consejo del Panel Intergubernamental sobre Cambio Climático (IPCC por sus siglas en inglés) las emisiones globales de dióxido de carbono deberán reducirse al 55% en 2030 y el turismo debe asumir su responsabilidad y tomar acción inmediata para lograr este propósito de forma colectiva.

Como tod@s l@s signatari@s, al declarar con "Turismo Declara" nos hemos comprometido con las siguientes cinco acciones:

1. Desarrollar un "Plan de acción climática" dentro de los próximos 12 meses, que establezca nuestras intenciones de reducir las emisiones de carbono durante la próxima década.

2. Declarar públicamente nuestro "Plan de emergencia climática" y actualizar el progreso cada año.

3. Aceptar el consejo actual del IPCC que establece la necesidad de reducir las emisiones globales de carbono a un 55% por debajo de los niveles de 2017 para 2030 con el fin de mantener el planeta dentro de 1,5 grados de calentamiento. Nos aseguraremos de que nuestro "Plan de emergencia climática" represente acciones diseñadas para lograr esto como mínimo, estableciendo un sistema de identificación y medición de emisiones de nuestras operaciones y servicios turísticos.

4. Motivar a nuestros proveedores y socios a hacer la misma declaración; compartir buenas prácticas y participar activamente en la comunidad Turismo Declara.

5. Abogar por el cambio: reconocemos la necesidad de un cambio de sistema en todo el sector para acelerar una transición justa hacia un turismo bajo en emisiones.

Today we are signing our compromise with them. However, we have been working in becoming more sustainable for two years now, like when we moved our head office to CREC Coworking Barcelona, a workspace already integrated into "Barcelona + Sostenible".
