We’ve almost reached the end of our Camino Horizons tour. Today we walked a stage in the woods of Galicia and then visited the Monte de Gozo, where we saw the cathedral spires. Tomorrow, we’re off to Finsiterre for our final horizon!

We’ve left France, Navarre and La Rioja behind as we continue west across Castile. After a beautiful hike and a delicious gourmet picnic lunch, it was time for a coffee in the village of Boadilla del Camino (featured in the video).

Today we explored the region of La Rioja on Camino Horizons, and yesterday afternoon we explored a bit of Rioja wine at Bodegas Franco-Españolas 😇🍷.

Perhaps today’s highlight was being received by the Cathedral rooster’s crow as we entered the church. Few pilgrims are this lucky! 🐓

Buen Camino from the Ibañeta Pass on our Camino Horizons tour. Today we started our adventure in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France, and ended the day feasting on local fish for dinner in Roncesvalles (Spain). Tomorrow more!

Today is the Feast of Our Lady of the Pillar ('El Pilar' in Spanish), commemorating a little known episode of Saint James's stay in Spain.

After leaving Galicia, Our Lady appeared to Santiago mounted on a stone pillar and instructed him to build a chapel (the first-ever chapel built to venerate Our Lady). This happened by the Ebro River in the city of Zaragoza in Spain; and inside the Basilica of the Pillar you can still venerate the relic/pillar that was used by Our Lady.
