Come join us on our kinder version of the Camino Portugués! 🥾

We´ll enjoy the same charming scenery of the Iberian Peninsula, but at a lighter, gentler pace. Our good friend, the yellow arrow, will keep us company as we cross over the River Miño and enter Spain. Our Camino also takes us through the town of Padrón, where Santiago’s stone boat brought him back to Spain.

Starting in Tui, we walk 129 km (80 miles) to Santiago de Compostela.

Our ''A Kinder Camino tour'' is similar to our standard standard full-service Camino de Santiago tour but with shorter days, less miles and a more manageable pace for those that are not seasoned hikers. Don't worry, the tour includes all the features of a Fresco Tour, such as two guides and a driver, two support vehicles and gourmet picnic lunches!

We'd like to wish you a happy Thanksgiving.
Here, at Fresco Tours, we have a lot to be grateful for. It's been another wonderful year, and a lot has happened on the trail and at the office; and it has all been MUY BUENO!

Thank you, fellow pilgrims and friends for being a part of this. Have a wonderful day with your loved ones.

In the photo below a Tarta de Santiago (Santiago Almond Cake) has snuck into the Thanksgiving dinner. Here's an idea, why not prepare one for dessert?

Here's the recipe from our Fresco Tours cookbook:

Ingredients for 6 pilgrims

9 oz. (finely ground almonds.
9 oz. sugar.
4 eggs.
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
1 teaspoon of aguardiente (grappa or similar).
Lemon zest from half of a small lemon.
Butter.
Powdered sugar.

You will need

Santiago cross stencil.

Recipe

Mix the almonds and sugar in a bowl.
Add the eggs to the bowl, one by one, mixing them well until you obtain a creamy texture.
Finally, add the cinnamon, lemon zest and aguardiente to the bowl and mix well.

Put the cake mix into a baking pan, which you have previously buttered, and preheat the oven to 350 ºF.
Bake till light brown or ready (approximately 30 minutes).
Let the cake cool completely.

Using the Santiago cross stencil and the powdered sugar, draw your cross on the top of the cake.
