In response to all the worried and kind messages we have received, just want to let everyone know that we are all ok down here in Malaga. Sadly the worst of the death and destruction has been in the eastern part of Spain 💔

15 years ago I met Leo Kokkenen. He had arrived for a week a riding in Malaga. Kitted out in POC head to toe it was his first mtb trip abroad and certainly not the last with Switchbacks and little did I know it was the start of a decade long journey of working together. A few years later he was back with a prototype of his own in house bike the Laki and Pole Bicycles was born. To stress the impact that Pole bikes had on the whole mtb world from design to ethically minded new technologies and EU made bikes is a testament to the driver behind it all - Leo. Pole will be sorely missed in a world of bikes that are in many respects copy paste designs with different colours. RIP Pole #polebicycles @leokokkenen
