It’s a beautiful warm sunny day here in Cómpeta and we are looking forward to welcoming some Dutch guests this afternoon. They have stayed at Casa Olivo on numerous occasions and asked us about an extended stay to escape to the Spanish sunshine and blue skies which certainly lift the spirits! There’s availability at Casa Olivo from mid March and from next week at El Olivo.

I took these photos this morning when I called round to prepare for our next guests. These scenes will be familiar to all our guests and were all taken within a couple of minutes walk of Casa Olivo. The sun is shining and the skies are blue. Our next availability is mid March. If you fancy a break before that check out our new guesthouse/B & B where we do have availability from next week.

Five years ago tomorrow Michael was leaving Cómpeta having put the finishing touches to Casa Olivo and placing furniture. Jan Schmid and his great team from had worked hard and the end result surpassed our expectations. I returned 10 days later with Seamus to bring in the New Year in Cómpeta and he was speechless. We had no idea that a few years later this beautiful part of Spain would be our home!!

Whatever time of year you visit, there is always colour in our garden as well as some interesting locally sourced plants. Casa Olivo is one of very few properties in the heart of the village which have a garden as well as a roof terrace and a pool. This makes it particularly popular with visitors to Cómpeta. Today we are preparing for guests to who are visiting for the third time.
