Five years ago tomorrow Michael was leaving Cómpeta having put the finishing touches to Casa Olivo and placing furniture. Jan Schmid and his great team from had worked hard and the end result surpassed our expectations. I returned 10 days later with Seamus to bring in the New Year in Cómpeta and he was speechless. We had no idea that a few years later this beautiful part of Spain would be our home!!

Michael & Seamus would like thank all our guests who have enjoyed staying in Casa Olivo this year, both repeat visitors and those who have visited for the first time. We would also like to express our thanks to those Cómpeta who help us whether that be the local taxi drivers, tbe cleaning team, local shops and restauranteurs and those who offer services like guided walks, massage, yoga and e-biking. You all help to create a memorable holiday for our guests. We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year! This photo was taken back in 2020 and gives you an idea of the outdoor space which we are so lucky to have at Casa Olivo and is the reason why our guests love the space and come back time and time again. The large roof terrace with the big umbrella is a lovely place to have breakfast or dine overlooking the village and down the valley to the sea. Steps then lead down to the outdoor kitchen and the Mediterranean garden which has really matured beautifully. Here you will see the olive tree (Olivo) after which we named the house and the pool. More steps then lead down through the utility room to the Moroccan style courtyard

It’s almost time for the Christmas lights in Málaga to be turned on. Málaga is an hour away from us and is a magical city to visit at Christmas. We have some late availability in both Casa Olivo, Cómpeta & El Olivo, Canillas de Albaida. Flights are cheap, so go on - treat yourselves!!

Whatever time of year you visit, there is always colour in our garden as well as some interesting locally sourced plants. Casa Olivo is one of very few properties in the heart of the village which have a garden as well as a roof terrace and a pool. This makes it particularly popular with visitors to Cómpeta. Today we are preparing for guests to who are visiting for the third time. Unusually for a house in the heart of the village Casa Olivo enjoys plenty of outside space - an enclosed garden with pool, shower & terraces, a Moroccan courtyard with fountain and a large roof terrace with views over the rooftops and church tower and down the valley to the Mediterranean Sea. The house is being completely refurbished to an exceptionally high standard and offers three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room, a dining room and kitchen with modern appliances. There is also a useful utility room with washing machine and space for bikes etc. and separate street access. Casa Olivo is the perfect choice for a holiday in a traditional Spanish village.
