Finca Pequeña is a rustic Andalucían property dating back to 1918 and is situated 1 kilometre outside the village of Cómpeta, in the Axarquía region. This property has two bedrooms (one double and one twin), a snug with a sofa-bed, a large bathroom with separate shower and bath, a fitted kitchen, a laundry room, dining room and living room. The gardens have been landscaped and terraced to incorpor
ate two large patio areas, one with a pool and the other has a built-in BBQ. It also has a shingle parking area which provides enough space for 2 cars and terraced walled gardens with mature trees and plants. Finca Pequeña has views of the surrounding countryside and the valley leading down to the coast plus a vista of Corumbela village in the distance. The village of Cómpeta is a traditional pueblo blanco dating back to Roman times. It is located 700 metres above sea level in the foothills of Mount Maroma and is on the edge of the Tejeda national park. It’s Main Square Plaza Almijara, is dominated by a 16th century church and is surrounded by numerous street-cafés and restaurants. The area has plenty to offer holidaymakers - The coastal towns of Caleta, Torrox Costa and Nerja are only a 25 minute drive away plus there is a water park at Torre del Mar for those that like the thrill of water slides. This area is also blessed with some fantastic walks which can be undertaken either with a tour guide (there is walking tour company situated in the village) or independently. For those who enjoy horse riding there are stables nearby which provide day treks into the national park. Lastly, not forgetting those who would prefer to explore Andalucían culture the beautiful cities of Malaga, Granada and Cordoba are virtually on the doorstep. Steve and Nina have had a property in Cómpeta for 7 years and have enjoyed many family holidays here. When the little run-down finca below theirs came up for sale in 2014 they snapped it up. Finca Pequeña was in a very sorry state! The land around it was totally overgrown and the finca’s roof was badly damaged. The project was a labour of love and its renovation took 18 months to complete. Now an extension of their existing holiday home it provides extra space for their large family when they stay but they are also willing to ‘Let’ it so that others can experience the delights that this beautiful area of Spain has to offer.
