Today we explored Iznate, a village that can be seen from Canillas and is 475m above sea level. It’s famous for its Moscatel grapes too. We had a lovely lunch Bar Hnos. Tejada. The views across the valley to Sierra Tejada, La Maroma and Zafarrya were amazing x

My favourite building in Archidona was the old El Silo de Cereales, situated on La Avenida de Pablo Picasso. Built in 1968, but its function ceased in 1996 and it was transferred to the city council. This cultural building was recently the subject of the “Play in Colours” initiative launched by artist Victor Garcia, which shows off its beauty

After leaving Archidona, we headed to Colmenar, saw a large herd of goats and the outside of the Honey Museum (opening hours 0900-1400), had a stroll before heading back to Canillas x

We explored Archidona yesterday, after passing Zafarrya and an off road cut through Google recommended! A lovely town with an eight sided square Plaza Ochavada, a new Mercadona, lots of churches and a colourful building x

We have returned for a week to get the villa ready for the season. The pool has been renovated by Ele's Pool House and looks fabulous. Laurie has been making sure it stays clean too with daily skimming!

Local flowers seen on my walk yesterday, since the rains everywhere is covered in a blanket of prettiness. So many unusual flowers; Mediterranean Thistke, Borage, Echium, Convolvulus, Genista Umbellata, Scoparia - thanks to Google Lens for identifying them all x
