🔴Green light for the Cantoria senior residence with a subsidy of 2.8 million euros
🔴It will have 32 rooms, of which 18 will be doubles and 14 singles
🔴CANTORIA.- The Cantoria City Council has been one of the major beneficiaries within the framework of the aid definitively approved on October 23 by the General Directorate of Older People, Active Participation and Unwanted Loneliness for the construction of day centers and senior residences.
This project, which is part of the CLD1 Line of 2023 and is co-financed by state funds through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, has a total of 2,817,115.72 euros of subsidy destined to the creation of a new Senior Residence in Cantoria, with capacity for 50 users.
The future residence will be designed to offer a comfortable and safe environment to the municipality's elderly, with a modern space adapted to their needs. It will have capacity for 50 users, distributed in seven cohabitation units, with the aim of guaranteeing high-quality personalized care.
The ground floor will house Cohabitation Unit No. 1, with capacity for 10 users, as well as a dining room and a living room.
On the first floor, users will find three units. Unit No. 2, for 6 users; Unit No. 3, also for 6; and Unit No. 4, with capacity for 8 users.
The second floor will have two additional units, Unit No. 5 and Unit No. 6, both with capacity for 6 users each. Unit No. 7 will be located on the first floor and will be able to accommodate 8 users.
In total, the residence will have 32 rooms, of which 18 will be doubles and 14 singles, which ensures an adequate level of privacy and comfort for residents. It will exceed 25% of single rooms, adapting to the specific needs of the elderly.
In addition, the building will have a total area of 3,183.32 m² and will include modern facilities designed to provide comprehensive care. It will have common areas on each floor, such as control stations, a physiotherapy room, two occupational therapy rooms, a nursing area, a visiting room, and administration and management spaces.
On the basement floor, general services will be housed, including laundry, kitchen, changing rooms, linen, boiler room, garbage room, electrical room and garage for ambulance. In addition, the outdoor areas will include a therapeutic garden and outdoor recreational areas, designed for the well-being and comfort of residents.
The design of the residence also incorporates innovative and sustainable solutions. Energy efficiency technologies will be prioritized to reduce the environmental impact and improve the sustainability of the center. Likewise, advanced technologies will be implemented to ensure operational efficiency and guarantee the well-being and safety of residents.
Social development in Cantoria
This project is a crucial step in the improvement of Cantoria's social infrastructure and reflects the City Council's commitment to the quality of life of its citizens. The new Senior Citizens' Residence will provide a modern and safe environment for the municipality's elderly, while reaffirming the management capacity of the governing team by attracting state funds exceeding 6.7 million euros in investments for the municipality.
This progress is added to other key initiatives, such as the water treatment plant, road improvements, improvements and digitalisation of water networks, reforms in municipal buildings and the urban mobility plan, which consolidate Cantoria as a municipality that is committed to the well-being of its population and the modernisation of its infrastructure.
