Exploring a new walk today for the returning groups this Spring ☀️🌳🌊🏝️🌻🌺🌸🪻

A beautiful 12km circular walk on the Andalusian coastline (Bolonia).

Also the chance to explore some very interesting Roman ruins (Baelo Claudio)… after tapas lunch on the beach 🥘😋☀️🌊🏛️🏺

New walk for the holidays in 2024:

LAS MARISMAS DE BARBATE, 10km flat circular
🌳🎋🪻🪷🦆🦩🐦‍⬛🪺☀️😁

I also found a local bodega/winery, that offers tapas and wine tasting for after the walk (yes they have a white Chardonnay and red wine, along with lots of sherrys) 😋🍷🍾🧀🥘.

Las Marismas de Barbate form part of the Natural Park of La Beña.
The beautiful low lying marshlands, have an abundance of bird life, flora and fauna - really beautiful winter colours and the moment.

Recommend as one of the best places on the Atlantic Coast to see birds, the marshes lie on one of the major migratory routes between North and Central Europe and Africa.

Known to be easy to spot mallards, egrets, grebes, herons, flamingos ans warblers - I’m sure I saw lots of these today (I’m not a bird expert!).

For the bird lovers out there, there is also the chance to see Ibis eremita, at a special birdwatching sight, in La Barca de Vejer.
