Arriving here on Saturday, yesterday afternoon I had my first pomegranate of the year. I have a few trees here, but my favourite, opposite the terrace has the most lovely champagne coloured flesh and seeds. It was perfectly sweet and ripe, just so pale in colour.

Two new fruit trees have gone in today, and two very young olives. I am hoping that in the coming years there will be grapefruit and oranges as well as the lemons and pomegranates we already have for guests.

I have really meant to post different images on this short trip to Casa Isadora, but the chameleon is winning out! Every day when I go to check on him, he’s doing something different. When it was windy and rainy, he had his head lodged under a leaf of the hibiscus for shelter, now it’s milder again he seems more animated.

Today on chameleon watch, our little friend seems to be quite lively as it is just a tiny bit warmer.

Our resident chameleon was fast asleep when I came out this morning. I love the way they curl their tails up so tightly when they are asleep. I went to buy some new trees, two olives, an orange and a grapefruit and when I came home, although he had moved, he was fast asleep again. The chameleon was obviously partying hard last night! 💚

Picking oranges in the sunshine on New Year’s Day, what an absolute treat! It has been 18° today, beautiful warm sunshine and a very gentle breeze. I haven’t been here for a good few months, and the injection of sunshine is certainly a tonic! Happy New Year to all. Morag XX

Each time I arrive at Casa Isadora, I am struck by the sheer beauty of the place. arriving this evening, he was a short video of birdsong. Turn up the volume.

Today was a good day. New timber arrived to hold up the grape vine, my lovely friend applied wood preservative, then we had a walk on the beach.
