📍Did you know that Plaza Guipúzcoa was originally a bare area used to gather troops during the Second Carlist War in the mid-1800s? Over the years, it transformed into one of San Sebastián’s most beloved spots, perfect for relaxing, meeting friends, and enjoying seasonal markets.

🌸 Cherry Trees & Japanese Connection
The cherry trees in the plaza were a gift from Tokyo in 1935, and Japanese Emperor Akihito himself visited them in 1953!

🌿 Garden Design & Unique Trees
This beautiful garden was designed in 1877 by Pierre Ducasse, a renowned French gardener and royal landscaper. He selected a variety of exotic trees, so everyone you see here is unique!

⏱️ Clock, Thermometer, and Sun Dials
You’ll find a marble sun clock on a table, a large floral sun clock, and even a complex meteorological thermometer that adds a scientific touch to this picturesque setting. Fun fact: every day at 12 PM, a clock chimes nearby, a tradition that dates back to a marketing strategy from the early 20th century.

🏛️ Architectural Gem
Right across from the plaza is the impressive Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa, designed to mirror the grandeur of the Paris Opera House. It’s adorned with statues honoring notable Basque figures like Urdaneta and Elkano, the first person to circumnavigate the world.

Hi! My name is Cristina and I started this company because food is my life. I moved to San Sebastian to study a degree in Culinary Arts because I thought I wanted to be a chef and discovered a world of options that you can do with food studies. I LOVE food everything I do revolves around seeking ingredients, finding the best places to eat, planning where I'm going to travel based on what I'll be able to try and who I'll be sharing a meal with! Food is a fantastic way to get to know a city, what and how we eat today is a result of history and culture which I find completely fascinating. I also believe food is the a fantastic way to bring people together.

I believe that we live in a time where there’s still a lot of social prejudice and travel is such an amazing way to demystify these ideas and, FOOD is the best way to get to know a place. If you combine these two concepts you get the best holiday in my opinion or unique travel & culinary experiences with meaning.

The tours and experiences we’ve designed are foodie immersions in real, ordinary San Sebastian. They’re a way to get a real sense of community, understand how locals live and eat as you learn about the history and culture. The vendors you meet and the passion with which they work are what makes this city amazing. This is like going on an edible story that also gives back to the community. With every tour you purchase, we help a person in need by donating a meal at a local soup kitchen, you eat one you feed one!
