COLOUR CODED BEACH FLAGS IN SPAIN
When you’re at a Spanish beach, it’s essential to pay attention to the color-coded flags displayed. These flags indicate the swimming conditions and safety. Let’s break down what each color means:
Green Flag: 🟢
Safe to Swim: When you see a green flag, it means it’s safe to swim. Dive right in!
Yellow Flag: 🟡
Swim with Caution: A yellow flag indicates that swimming is permitted, but you should exercise caution. Stick to areas where lifeguards are on duty.
Red Flag: 🔴
No Swimming: If you spot a red flag, it’s time to head to the beach bar for a few beers. Swimming is definitely not allowed!
Black Flag: ⚫
Unsafe Conditions: Rarely seen, a black flag indicates that the beach is unsafe due to sea or sand conditions.
Jellyfish Flag: 🎐
Watch Out for Jellyfish: If there’s a jellyfish drawn on the flag, it’s another day for drinks at the beach bar. Keep an eye out for these!
Blue Flag: 🔵
Eco-Label Award: The blue flag represents an eco-label award for beaches with good practices regarding water quality, environmental management, safety, and services1.
Remember, these flags help keep everyone safe, so always follow their guidance! 🌊🏄♂️🏊♀️
