Seville is the capital of the Andalusia region in southern Spain. It is famous for flamenco, particularly in the Triana district. The main monuments are the extraordinary Alcázar complex, a castle built during the Moorish Almohad dynasty, and the bullring called Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza, dating back to the 18th century. The Gothic cathedral houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus and is flanked by the Giralda, originally a minaret, later transformed into a bell tower.
