Casaita Valle de Palmeras is a traditional Canarian house (circa 1900) and family home which exudes a feeling of warmth. The garden opens into the sunlit bedroom with a double bed and includes a living room area with a double sofa bed. The apartment also has a small fully equipped practical kitchen which includes a fridge, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, toaster, and kettle. The kitchen leads to the bathroom with a modern shower, sink and WC. (Please note sleeping is all in one room). The house itself is situated in a protected area on a one way street leading to the centre of Haria which is a few minutes walk away and just 6KM from the local sandy beach. Walk to the end of the road and you are in the middle of the beautiful local mountain trails with stunning volcanic and ocean views. Haria is an old Canarian village known as the valley of a thousand palms. It is a sheltered green oasis in the north of the island. Haria was home to local artist Cesar Manrique who was instrumental in maintaining the timeless character of Lanzarote. He inspired much of the architecture on the island and many of the art installations and attractions are thanks to him. Cesar Manrique was killed in a tragic accident and now his untouched house and art studio is open to view in Haria village. The local plaza, a few minutes walk away, offers great value Canarian bars/restaurants and shops. Here you can enjoy a slower pace of life as you soak up local culture wandering around the village or sitting at a bar. There is also an artisan market every Saturday. Haria is the centre for the majority of the municipalities local events and festivals which offers a great opportunity to experience local culture. The area is also a great starting point for leisurely or more challenging walks, there are many scenic routes to choose from. Other attractions close by include Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verde, Mirador del Rio, and Jardin de Cactus. And for beach lovers, the closest beach, Playa la Garita, is just 6km away. Arrieta also has a small sandy beach and sea pool ideal for young children and is situated by the harbour wall. The next village around the coast, Punta Mujeres, also has a collection of sea pools ideal for all the family. If you wish to discover more of the island, Haria is an ideal centre for your holiday with most of the island attractions no more than a 35 minute drive away. The tourist resort of Costa Teguise is just a 20 minute drive away and Puerto Del Carmen just a 35 minute drive away.
