🕊️May the Olive branches bloom 🕊️
a Christmas poem by Lianne Issa

'All praise the Holy Land' our Christmas songs chime,
Yet war is renewed, citing historic rhyme.
Despite our sacred carols, a conflict unfolds,
Where bombs drop nightly, rending stories untold.

a land once of peace, where love was professed,
Is now torn apart by hate and unrest.
The cradle of faith, where religions were born,
Now screams out in anguish, its innocence torn.

Bethlehem's star shines bright in the sky,
A witness to horrors gives a weak silent cry.
Casting shadows on voices silenced by war,
As rich men lay waste, seeking power and more.

These same sands of desert where Jesus once walked,
Lessons of love and forgiveness he taught.
Now lie the scars of battle and siege,
Yet love flickers on, it will never concede.

Amidst the rubble glows a glimmer of hope,
A flickering candle impels us to cope.
For in the Christmas message of love and of peace,
Lies the power to mend, to end all dis-ease.

In the tapestry of faith, threads intertwined,
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam aligned.
Three paths of devotion, different in name,
Yet bound by belief in one spiritual flame.

In synagogues, mosques, and churches we pray,
Seeking guidance and blessings to show us the way.
Let the presence of Yahweh, Allah, and God,
Illuminate our path, be our heavenly rod.

Let the carols resound in harmonious refrain,
Calling for unity, to heal all our pain.
Let compassion guide where hatred once stood,
And restore this land to religious brotherhood.

May the olive branches bloom with a message so clear,
That peace in the holy land must be ever held dear.
And in the memory of Christ, please let us all find,
A path to coexistence, leave no soul behind.

A great, quiet and peaceful place to stay. Great welcome by Lianne and Jess. They were happy to help us with making sure we had everything we needed. The kids loved the pool and playing ping pong/pool.

Magnifique séjour! Cette location est tout simplement parfaite, la piscine est immense et très agréable, les espaces de jeux sont super sympas, le site dans les oliviers est superbe. La Hacienda est très confortable pour 4 personnes. La location est très bien située pour visiter l'Andalousie. En un mot : idéal!

Our stay at Jess’s place was wonderful. He was very helpful and gave us useful tips. We really enjoyed the luxurious swimming pool. The location is great to visit Iznájar, Córdoba, Granada and El Torcal, all of them are beautiful places.

One of my favourite things about the rural Spanish campo is that the night sky is spectacular… the best I’ve seen out of everywhere I’ve been. The nearest city is an hour away and the pueblo blancos don’t give of a lot of light so the stars are about as bright as they can get (especially when the moon is a thin crescent )…

Jon and I used to lay out on the sun beds for hours looking up at the sky watching the international space station fly over and counting shooting stars when we first got together… I’ve stargazed and chatted into the small hours with many of the girl groups I’ve bought out here too.

They’re so bright even a smart phone will pick them out! These were taken early in the evening but at 2am it’s even better!!

After a few years rest, we have missed renting out our beautiful space to holiday makers… therefore I’m excited to announce that we have decided to open up our cottages again for the 2022 season! (April - October)

Cortijo las Olivas is situated in a picturesque and tranquil valley in the heart of Andalusia. You’ll be surrounded by rolling hills dotted with olive groves and nothing but the sound of birds. There’s no light pollution too so the night sky is spectacular!

There a large (10x5) spring water pool, Mediterranean rose gardens and a Moroccan bbq terrace. Perfect for a bit of rest and recuperation… a place to get truly lost in nature and cherish the simple things.

We are situated in the perfect location for touring too. Just 5 minutes from the lakes and the beautiful hill top town of iznajar… there are many restaurants, bars, cafes, sites and lake beach activities. We are also only an hour from Malaga, cordoba and Granada… we are also within easy reach of seville, Marbella, nerja and the costa del sol.

Our three cottages are available to rent individually or all together for groups of up to 11. We have WiFi throughout and provide all of the essentials.
