Los Cristianos is a town in southwestern Spain with a population of 21,235 (2017), situated on the Spanish island of Tenerife. The town clings to the southern coast of the island and includes a busy port and two beaches.
The town is a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of its neighbour, Playa de las Américas. It had a long history before tourism took off in the 1970s and 1980s—it was a peaceful fishing village for decades. You can still see evidence of its humble origins in the Canarian architecture of older buildings. Since tourism started to boom, the town has grown dramatically, hosting many hotels, restaurants, bars…you name it! The ferry port here is popular with tourists looking to book excursions like dolphin and whale watching or game fishing.

Masca is a small mountain village on the island of Tenerife. It used to be an ancient Guanche settlement before the Spanish conquered it in 1496. Currently, there are around 90 inhabitants in Masca. Masca lies at an altitude of 650m in the Macizo de Teno mountains, which reach up to the northwesternmost point of Tenerife.

This village is the top of the Masca Gorge. There are many trees of all kinds here. The walk down to the Atlantic Ocean is an intense hike, which should take three hours to complete.
