🇪🇸 Tercer día en el "Rincón sidrero" de FITUR representando a la y especialmente motivados con la concesión del "Patrimonio inmaterial UNESCO" para la cultura sidrera asturiana.
Hoy contamos con varios campeones del mundo de escanciado en el stand.
¡Vamos!
🇬🇧 Day number three in FITUR standing for the Asturian cider, it's Origin designation and our "Brand new" consideration as Intangible Heritage by UNESCO for the cultural tradition around Asturian cider.
Today we have several World Champions of "escanciado", the historical way of cider pouring which is unique and 100% from Asturias.

Hace dos o tres años tuve el placer de enseñar Asturias a los editores de esta revista. Desde entonces, hemos mantenido el contacto, pues yo sostengo que conversar con un portugués siempre te enriquece (¿Quién dijo que la melancolía - la saudade - es algo negativo?
Días atrás, pudimos poner nuestro humilde granito de arena para que pudiesen publicar este artículo acerca de los de Luarca.

🇪🇸 Un faro es luz, es esperanza, es salvación y orientación, cómo también un comienzo y un final para los navegantes Si forma parte de tu vida, además, es un edificio y una estructura que ningún GPS podrá sustituir. Es el caso de este para mi.
🇬🇧 A lighthouse is a torch, is hope, is salvation, help and orientation. As it is - as well- a beginning and end for a sailor. But, if a lighthouse happens to be part of your life, beside all these previous things, It will be something that no GPS system can replace. It is the case of this one in the pic for me.

🇪🇸 He vivido y trabajado cómo guía en los lugares más diversos: Estambul, Dubrovnik, Hungría, República Checa, Alemania, Austria, Inglaterra... En algunos de esos destinos me encontré muy a gusto, y en otros, algo menos. Pero siempre, SIEMPRE, eché de menos Asturias.
🇬🇧 As a guide, I have lived and worked in many different countries and places: Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Hungary, Checz Republic, Germany, Austria, England... In some occasions I really felt comfortable, in some other not so much. But in every occasion, I ever remember myself missing Asturias.

🇪🇸 Hace más años de los que me gustaría, un profesor nos desmontó una certeza hasta entonces indiscutible para el grupo de niños que habíamos nacido junto al mar: "El mar no es azul- nos dijo- Es la luz y el reflejo del cielo los que deciden el color del mar cada día".
Tuvo que transcurrir una larga mañana hasta que se acabaron las clases y pudimos correr hasta el lugar que se ve en la foto. Allí, tumbados sobre un muro, ahuecamos nuestras manos llenándolas de agua para descubrir con sorpresa y desagrado, que el mar en nuestras manos, efectivamente, no era azul 💙💙💙
¿Y tú, también tuviste la suerte de nacer junto al mar?
🇬🇧 Many years ago, more by far than the mountain of them that I'd like 😆, our teacher told us something that destroyed a fact for me and my group of friends who had been born by the sea. "The sea is not blue in colour. It is the light and the clouds that creates the colour of the sea" he said.
I remember that morning as one of the longest in my life, waiting for the lessons to end until we could run and run in order to reach the place in the pic. Once there, we laid on a ramp in the beach where we could fill our hands with water finding out that - yes - the water wasn't blue but crystalline.
What about you, were you so lucky to be born by the sea side?

🇪🇸 ¿Sabías que en algunos puertos asturianos, muchos norays (foto) son antiguos cañones reutilizados cuando se modernizaron los muelles en el siglo XIX? Es el caso de estos dos en el puerto de Luarca. Te los enseñamos cuando quieras.
🇬🇧 Very often, bollards in Asturian harbours are former cannons repurposed when the ports were modernized at the end of the XIX century. It is the case of these two in the photos made in Luarca yesterday. We can show you all of them when you want us to.

🇪🇸 Conocí a alguien a quien no le gustaban las patatas fritas. También tuve ocasión de conocer a una persona a la que no le gustaba la Coca cola. Sin embargo, nunca oí hablar de nadie que no se quedase hipnotizado observando el mar. En caso de que esa persona exista, me permito comunicarle que en Asturias tenemos también patatas fritas, Cocacola y hasta sidra 😃😃
🇬🇧 I once met someone who didn't like fries. And I also know a person that doesn't like Coke. However, I never heard about anybody who doesn't get hipnotised while watching the ocean. Just in case that kind of person may exist I feel obliged to share something: in Asturias we have fries, Coke and even cider 😃😃

🇪🇸 Hoy es el día en que la UNESCO comunicará si considera a la "Cultura sidrera ASTURIANA" Patrimonio Cultural inmaterial de la Humanidad. Permanezcan atentos a sus pantallas porque hoy puede ser un día verdaderamente histórico. Vaya desde aquí nuestro apoyo lleno de ilusión.
