The Cuesta del Lipan is the first of the two epic climbs that we will accompany you to climb on this trip through Northern Argentina.

The Cuesta del Lipan starts from the town of Purmamarca at 2300 meters above sea level and reaches its highest point at 4170m.

The climb is gradual and by the time we reach Purmamarca we have already been climbing little by little for two days, so we arrive acclimatized to face this first challenge.

The landscape gradually changes, we go from the town of Purmamarca to the arid climb and finally, once we have taken the photo at the milestone that marks the highest point, we have the long descent towards the Salinas Grandes, a salt flat that will leave us speechless with its whiteness and crystal-clear water lagoons with turquoise bottoms.

"Getting ready for an adventure? Here are some tips to ensure you’re in top shape for the journey ahead. How do you train for long rides?"

1. Build a Cycling Base Early
Start training 8–12 weeks before your trip(if possible before). Gradually increase the duration of your rides to build endurance without overtraining. Aim for at least one long ride per week that matches the length or terrain of your trip’s stages.

2. Know your gear
Familiarity with your gear can make or break your cycling adventure. Spend time practicing with everything you plan to use on the trip, from your bike to accessories like panniers, lights, and GPS devices. Ensure you know how to make basic repairs, such as fixing a flat tire or adjusting your brakes, and carry a small repair kit on every ride. The better you know your equipment, the fewer surprises you’ll encounter on the road.

3. Prioritize Bike Fit and Gear Check
Ensure your bike is properly fitted to avoid discomfort during long rides. Test ride your gear, including clothing, shoes, and accessories, to confirm comfort and functionality. For multi-day rides, practice carrying items in the way you'll need to on the tour.

4. Train for Consecutive Days
Multi-day tours require stamina and recovery. Plan a few "back-to-back" training rides on weekends to simulate the demands of consecutive days in the saddle.

5. Prepare Mentally and Practically for Weather and Terrain
Adventure tours often include varied conditions. Train in diverse weather and on mixed terrain to build confidence.

Are you one of those?

We just came back from the desert of Atacama, went to the folder that our passengers received with 519 photos from the trip and made a random choose, this is what came out.

This is quite an impressive tour and that is definitely not done for everyone, only the braves and those who are prepared will fulfill the dream of going from the coast up to the mountains of the desert and to San pedro de Atacama.

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!! Last year we made an effort that we knew was risky and absolutely not financially profitable, but we wanted to bet for it, cause we truly believe in this tour, Atacama. We decided that we were going to do the tour with the only passenger that signed up for it in 2023. Yes, you read well, we went to Atacama with just one person, because we wanted to show him, and all of you, how wonderful this part of the world is. Today, with just a few months to go again to the most arid desert in the world, we are very happy to say that there are still three chances for you to come, yes ONLY three, cause the other 9 slots have already been taken! So, you better hurry up to enjoy Mars, sorry Atacama!! The ship is getting ready to depart, and the cyclonauts are finalizing the details of their bikes to cross a land that is many of its places similar to Mars.

Have you ever wondered how many things you have to carry for a month in Mongolia accompanying two tours and a one week bike-rafting trip?? Well, our tour leader @natxop is leaving in two days to spend a month between the vast steppes of Mongolia and the mountains surrounding Ulaanbaatar. Nacho is guiding two tours and in between he will be exploring an area near ulaanbaatar with his bike and packraft.
