Now that the UK has voted to withdraw from the European Union, the registry for .eu domains (EURid) has decided to revoke domains registered to UK residents, and prevent them from purchasing new ones.

"In light of this decision we will no longer offer .eu domains to UK residents. EURid may act as early as March 30, 2019, but the deadline might shift as Brexit negotiations continue."

Of course this is an absolutely illegal act by the EU.

Scandal:

HP customers from around the world report that HP started to install the HP Touchpoint Manager software on their devices, and with it a new Windows Telemetry service called HP Touchpoint Analytics Client.

According to these reports, this is done without user interaction, and in the background. The first report of the installation of HP Touchpoint Analytics dates back to November 15, 2017.

How to get rid of it.

Option 1: Services
Use Windows-R to bring up the run box.
Type services.msc and hit the Enter-key on the keyboard.
Look for HP Touchpoint Analytics Client in the Services listing.
If it is there, HP Touchpoint Manager is installed.
If it is not there, skip to option 2.
Double-click on the service to open its details.
Set its startup type to disabled.
Select Stop to stop it in the current session.

Option 2: Windows Programs
Use Windows-R to load the run box.
Type appwiz.cpl to load the Programs and Features control panel applet.
Locate HP Touchpoint Manager.
Right-click the program name, and select Uninstall to remove it.

HP laptops found to have hidden keylogger 11 December 2017 Technology.

Hundreds of HP laptop models were affected

Hidden software that can record every letter typed on a computer keyboard has been discovered pre-installed on hundreds of HP laptop models.

Security researcher Michael Myng found the keylogging code in software drivers preinstalled on HP laptops to make the keyboard work.

HP said more than 460 models of laptop were affected by the "potential security vulnerability".

It has issued a software patch for its customers to remove the keylogger.

The issue affects laptops in the EliteBook, ProBook, Pavilion and Envy ranges, among others. HP has issued a full list of affected devices, dating back to 2012.

In a statement, the company said: "HP uses Synaptics' touchpads in some of its mobile PCs and has worked with Synaptics to provide fixes to their error for impacted HP systems, available via the security bulletin on HP.com ."
'Loss of confidentiality'

Mr Myng discovered the keylogger while inspecting Synaptics Touchpad software, to figure out how to control the keyboard backlight on an HP laptop.

He said the keylogger was disabled by default, but an attacker with access to the computer could have enabled it to record what a user was typing.

According to HP, it was originally built into the Synaptics software to help debug errors.

It acknowledged that could lead to "loss of confidentiality" but it said neither Synaptics nor HP had access to customer data as a result of the flaw.

In May, a similar keylogger was discovered in the audio drivers pre-installed on several HP laptop models.

At the time, the company said the keylogger code had been mistakenly added to the software.
