I began my sailing adventure at the age of 17, when my brother and I started to build our Carter 30 “Yacht” in 1987, in Górki Zachodnie, Poland, even though we had never been sailing before! In 1991, we sailed down the German and French channels to reach the Mediterranean Sea. This is how everything began, and to this day our sailboat hasn’t cruised back northbound. ould offer, there were no boundaries to what could be explored: Italy, Greece, Turkey were on the horizon. At the age of 20 I had already enjoyed sailing for several years, I had discovered a new lifestyle and had a taste for greater freedom. The sailing books I had read and dreamed about when I was younger were now becoming a reality. I was eventually asked to work as a skipper in charge of a small fleet of 5 sailing boats in Fiumicino next to Rome. I took part in organizing family cruises where we would sail intensively for 6 months. A few years later I was back sailing around Turkey, Greece and Croatia in charge of another boat. Alexandra (who would become my wife...) was on board as a sailor-cook . After a long summer spent on the Mediterranean, in the winter we decided to work on 100-foot luxury sailboats. We were to ensure their delivery through the Atlantic. Once in the Caribbean Islands we took people on exclusive chartered cruises from Granada Island to the BVI's (British Virgin Islands). One spring, after having sailed for the whole winter on our way back to Europe, we were sailing past the “Costa del Sol” in Spain, and the snowy mountains of the Sierra Nevada irresistibly attracted us. We spent our next winter there, and even bought a little piece of mountainous land on the coast. That is how a new adventure in Andalusia started, nestled between the sea and the mountains, on the “Costa Tropical”...
