En Estambul, Turquía, hicieron una estatua en memoria a un gatito callejero que solía sentarse todos los días en esta posición y veía a la gente pasar y el paisaje callejero. Era muy querido por los vecinos por lo cual lo alimentaban periódicamente y lo llevaban seguido al veterinario para chequearlo y que se mantuviese sano.

Pues bien, en agosto de 2016 Tombili murió, según parece, producto de una extraña enfermedad, y su deceso fue rápidamente anunciado con carteles colocados en los postes de la calle Güleç Çıkmazı, área que frecuentaba el felino dejando a la comunidad con un vacío enorme pero a la vez felices de haber experimentado un lazo tan grande con un animalito.

Maggie Lena Walker (15 de julio 1864 - 15 de diciembre 1934), era hija de una esclava liberada y de un periodista irlandes. Fue la primera mujer afroamericana que fundó un banco en los Estados Unidos en 1902. El banco ofrecía préstamos e hipotecas a los residentes negros de Richmond, Virginia, a los que los bancos negaban el servicio.

Un año más tarde abrió unos grandes almacenes que permitían a los clientes negros comprar con dignidad. Podían entrar por las puertas principales en lugar de por una entrada lateral, probarse la ropa antes de comprar y comer en los mostradores. Su tienda exponía la ropa en maniquíes de piel oscura y contrataba exclusivamente a mujeres negras para trabajar como dependientas.

Ese mismo año, Walker utilizó su periódico para instar a los residentes de Richmond a boicotear el sistema segregado de tranvías de la ciudad. El boicot fue tan eficaz que la empresa que explotaba los tranvías se declaró en quiebra dos meses después.

Entrance door with key safe allowing you to arrive at anytime of day or night. Fully equipped kitchen with hob and microwave. Shower room with large walk-in shower cubicle, basin and toilet. Double bed with the benefit of a further sofa bed in the living-room ample storage and cupboard space. The apartment is also equipped with flat screen tv with international channels, and fast free fibre broadband. The large terrace has table and chairs for alfresco dinning with uninterrupted views of the newly remodelled swimming pool and gardens. The complex has the added bonus of a large roof top solarium with both clothed and optional clothing areas and fantastic views of the dunes, resort, beach and mountains, there are also toilet facilities and shower here perfect for a day soaking up the sun. The benefit of a rooftop solarium is rarely found except in some of the more luxury hotels. The complex also has a small bar-restaurant, mini market and hairdressers.
