The intensity of summer may be past, but October is still so beautiful and hot, days in the garden or at the beach are just gorgeous.

Phew! Temperatures are scorchio in Andalusia right now, so lucky the sea is only half an hour away, and El Sarük has such a beautiful cool interior and shady courtyard garden to retreat to when you’ve had enough of the sunshine.

With summer now under way at El Sarük, it’s always good to know where you can get a cooling drink or a bite to eat in and around Nigüelas. The bars and restaurants all have their own style, and opening times. Luckily this year we have this handy guide. Terraza La Erilla is a lovely new cafe/bar/restaurant situated right on the edge of the gorge with fabulous views and really good food
- a great addition to the many appealing possibilities we’re lucky enough to have in Nigüelaa.

What a view! Imagine walking back to El Sarük from the bakery, a fresh loaf under your arm. The mountain crowned with some of the recent snow. Blues skies, sunshine, and a lovely warm day down in the village. There’s beauty at every turn around Nigüelas.

The joy of staying at El Sarük in November: right now, blue skies, mid twenties heat, and the opportunity to pick fresh oranges straight from our tiny tree! Delicious fruit or juice as fresh as it gets. Gin and orange anyone?

As we feel the winter starting to set in in other countries, there’s still beautiful sunshine and heat waiting for you at El Sarük, with current temperatures around 30 degrees. Some dates are still available in October, including half term week. Why not?

The stunning canyon of the Barranco de Luna is a mere 20 minutes drive from El Sarük and is a beautiful afternoon’s adventure for anyone who likes the idea of wading and scrambling up the river. Be sure to go with appropriate footwear (not flip flops) and be prepared to get a little wet! A great way to escape the heat.
