From 11 May 2016 it will be illegal for holiday apartments to be rented out on the Costa del Sol and Andalucia without being registered with the Spanish authorities. This can result in massive fines for owners of apartments and also the possible seizure of the property. If you are thinking of renting then ask for the registration number which starts with CTC and then 9 digits. Of course all our properties are properly registered so you can sit back in the sun without the worry that the Guardia Civil police may come knocking!

August is the Spanish time for
town fairs or “ferias”

The month of August is well-known for its many town fairs, also called “ferias”. The biggest one is the Málaga fair which is celebrated from the 15th till the 22nd of August.

On the 14th of August a large firework display will officially inaugurate the fair. The best place for watching this is on the Plaza de Malagueta (next to the water front Muelle Uno) and afterwards you can listen to a free concert by the Spanish singer Edurne, known from the Eurovision Song Contest.

During the daytime, from 1300h – 1900h, the town fair is celebrated in the centre of Málaga city (Calle Larios) and then continues outside the centre of Málaga next to the congress centre.

The fair is such an attraction for residents and tourists alike so you might find additional traffic on the motorway (N-340) next to the congress centre.

No, not Coronation Street's Vera Duckworth (who has a place in Marbella) but Michelle Obama who visited earlier in the Summer. We did offer Holiday Marbella's accommodation but we couldn't fit in the 657 CIA agents! This obviously underlines what a top place Marbella is to holiday/
