Shepherd's Rest & Cortijo Serendipia are run together as one community. They are two traditional Spanish farmhouses, which make up 7 family apartments and our family home.

Shepherd's Rest is in Oria village, with all amenities within 10 minutes walk. This includes 4 convenience stores, 5 bar/restaurants, 2 butchers, 2 bakeries, 2 play parks, 24hr medical centre, post office, pharmacy, gym, sports ground, municipal swimming pool (July/August) and a weekly market.

Cortijo Serendipia is 6 minutes drive from Shepherd's Rest and Oria village.
Supermarkets, indoor pool, bowling, sports clubs, parks and many restaurants and tapas bars are within 25 minutes drive in the local towns of Albox and Olula Del Rio.

There are so many days out and weekend breaks that we can recommend for families that want to explore Andalucia 🇪🇸

We are not a Worldschool Hub.

We are not a school and there is no curriculum here.

We are not teachers and there are none on site.

This is a place where families stay to connect and take a break from travelling, or to escape from a fast-paced life. We provide accommodation, you become part of the community.

This is a nurturing environment that supports growth in confidence. Everyone that stays here has their own method of raising & teaching their children, and we respect that.

This is a place for connecting with your children and other families. We provide communal spaces for both work and play. These areas are free to use for parents and children.

There are opportunities in the local community that we can take part in, or recommend to you. We have a WhatsApp group for all families here to communicate, ask questions, and share recommendations of places to visit.

Oria is a friendly village, which provides opportunities to practice your Spanish. Check out the weekly market, the tapas bars, or a chat with a local family at one of the children’s parks.

We join together on Sunday afternoon for a communal meal, where everyone brings one dish of food to share. This gives an option for socialising and meeting new families that have arrived during the week.

We have created a home away from home atmosphere. All spaces and resources are to be respected and kept tidy, as everything here is for present and future families.
