A slight calima did not affect our tour, which started as usual at our favorite sunset spot and we were able to witness a wonderful puesta del sol over the islands of La Gomera and El Hierro while sipping some cava, and was followed by a memorable stargazing session, with our guides showing many celestial objects through our top-of-the-line telescopes while explaining interesting facts about the universe and taking questions from our guests

It wasn't the best of nights, it wasn't the worst of nights...
After having to cancel the past few nights because of storm Dorothea sweeping through the islands, we expected the weather to be nice once again.
We started our tour with one of the best sunsets we have experienced the last few weeks while sipping some Cava, but unfortunately some unexpected medium clouds made their presence very apparent during our stargazing session.
We were still able to show most of the objects through the telescopes but we couldn't see the Moon or the Great Orion nebula for example. Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans and we have to go with the flow!

An excellent evening from start to finish with a spectacular sunset to begin the tour followed by a perfect stargazing session under a clear sky in the shadow of Mount Teide.
We set up our telescopes and looked at the Moon, Venus, Saturn and Jupiter plus a slew of deep-sky objects such as nebulae, double stars and galaxies. It is also great to see Orion rising earlier and earlier, we look forward to showing its features during our upcoming stargazing tours.

Sometimes we have to adapt to what Mother Nature has in store for us, and although we enjoy cloud-free conditions pretty much all-year round, there are occasions such as tonight when we have to be flexible. The layer of low clouds turned out to be much thicker than expected so we had to escape some drizzle and chase some open sky. Of course, every challenge also brings a reward, so the treat we got was that we enjoyed a wonderful puesta del sol and stargazing session from the most iconic place on the island!

The weather over the last couple of weeks has been unusually bad, forcing us to cancel several tours, and the forecast for last night was not too promising either. We had to wait until the clouds opened up a bit but we were eventually able to see all the celestial objects through the telescopes while our guides gave interesting explanations about the universe.
As you can see from the photos, the sky wasn't perfectly clear but it was still a wonderful experience for our guests!

The sunset was better tonight and we enjoyed a Cava or a fruit juice at Los Poleos before we did our stargazing part of the night with our telescopes to see the magic appear in the sky above us.
We are still having some nights with a bit of cloud around but nothing deters our guides from working our way around the clouds and having a great night!
We then looked at Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, double stars, nebulae, open clusters and galaxies while our guides showed stars and constellations with laser pointers and told stories and facts about the universe.
